“Interested in sustainable energy and energy transitions?
My research group—Energy Technology and Policy Assessment—is looking for graduate students (master’s and PhD) and postdoctoral scholars interested in #lifecycleassessment (LCA), technoeconomics, and innovation. McGill
Civil Engineering is an excellent program for sustainable energy, spanning electricity, transportation, and environment (including collaborative, interdisciplinary opportunities across engineering departments and campus). ETAPA research is in line with #TISED goals for
sustainability in engineering and design. Undergraduate research assistantships will also be available.
Additional, cutting-edge co-supervision opportunities are available if you’re interested in transportation with Lijun Sun and Luis Miranda-Moreno Dr, as well as other opportunities with ETAPA in sustainable electrification for net zero goals.
Not only are we now located in
Montreal (a vibrant, multicultural and bilingual city that is ranked among the safest in the world), McGill has immense traction in sustainableenergy, including:
♻ The Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED)
♻ The McGill Centre for Innovation
in Storage and Conversion of Energy (McISCE)
♻ The McGill Engine to support start-ups and innovation coming from your work with us
♻The McGill Sustainable Systems Initiative (MSSI)
Email me to set up a time to discuss and interview / chat: sarah.jordaan@mcgill.ca.

Wildland Sciences at Cal Poly Humboldt (humboldt.edu/fwr/program/gr…). The selected student will be supported by an assistantship to work on a Cal Fire project developing resources (website, pamphlets, briefs) and coordinating workshops and training opportunities related to engaging
community members about wildfire related benefits, problems, and solutions in Humboldt County and adjacent regions. The student’s research project is flexible but likely focused around assessing community resilience to prior or future wildfires in northwestern California/southern
fully-funded Ph.D. and M.S. positions opening in my research group at University of Alaska Fairbanks in Spring2023/Fall2023. The successful candidates will work on one of the following topics:
(1)Mechanisms of EGS-induced fault sliding and characterization of gouge materials;
(2)Microstructure characterization of rocks and rock-fluids interaction.
My research group works on a wide range of fundamental and engineering research covering the areas of geomechanics with injected fluids; fluids transportation and adsorption in unconventional energy
production; mining ground control, and applications for data science and machine learning in the energy industry.
Please email lfan3@alaska.edu with your CV, unofficial transcripts and summary of highlights of skills and research interests.

Funded Graduate Assistantship (PhD) in Plant Ecology (Texas A&M University)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lucero lab in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management at Texas A&M University seeks applications for a PhD student to join our team in August 2023.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop independent research within the broad field of plant ecology. Please visit our lab website to learn more about our research interests: lnkd.in/gJmSKu7d, and the Departmental website to learn more about our
world-class community: rwfm.tamu.edu. Applicants should be well versed in basic principles of ecology and evolution, and must have a strong appreciation for biodiversity conservation. Ideal candidates will have experience in field research (which may include a
Dr. Mahldi said “I'm very excited to share that international students are now eligible for Ph.D. application fee waivers at the University of Michigan College of Engineering (that includes CSE and ECE). We don't require GRE scores and accept several English language proficiency
tests (TOEFL, IELTS, and more).
I'm personally looking to recruit strong Ph.D. applicants this year. Please look up my web page and mention my name in your application if we share research interests (also please feel free to email me to discuss your interests). I'm broadly
interested in theoretical computer science, including information and coding theory, sparse recovery and group testing, information-theoretic cryptography, pseudorandomness and derandomization in complexity theory, and pretty much anything related to information and randomness
“Looking for a motivated PhD student to join an exciting externally funded research project focusing on remote sensing of soil moisture using satellite data. Details below.
A PhD position is open in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department, New Mexico State University.
The position is available starting Spring 2023 semester. The project focuses on remote sensing, data processing and machine learning. The student will have an opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team (Engineering and Plant Sciences).
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong programming skills
- Strong motivation to work in research and publish in scientific journals
- Ability to take ownership of a project
PhD and MS Assistantships in Forestry/Forest Science
Michigan Technological University in collaboration with USDA's Northern Research Station is launching a research project to study the interactive effects of emerald ash borer (EAB) and terrestrial invasive plants on wetland
ecosystems in the Great Lakes region.
We are seeking applications for a Ph.D. student and a MS student in the areas of forestry, forest science, vegetation science, or ecology. The positions are housed at the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science and are
available as early as spring of 2023.
The overall objective is to determine success of natural and artificial tree regeneration and develop an easy-to-use decision matrix tool to restore lowland ash stands to productive forested lands. The study will be conducted in northern
