I watched #KantaraMovie today and was thrilled while watching the #Varaha#Worship scenes. Appa had narrated a story where some 20+ years back he travelled with forest rangers deep into the south Canara forest in the middle of the night to see Bhuta worship dance and ritual.

He took some amazing photographs with his film camera very similar to the visuals in the movie. We are trying to locate those photographs. Will share it soon.

I watched Rishab Shetty's interview in #Tamil and what a conviction in his #Hindu#Belief (#Deiva_Vazhipadu)! Appa would have loved this movie!
Congrats to the entire #KantaraMovie team for bringing out our regional traditions and culture to #entertainment field🙏.

Swarajya Magazine referencing Appa (Dr. #Nagaswamy) with reference to #KantaraMovie Bhoota Kola
It is #fascinating to read #Hultzsch books on South Indian Inscriptions published by the #ASI in 1899. In volume III, he has written in detail about many temples.
/1
In chapter one, he has recorded most inscriptions in the #Ukkal#Vishnu#temple called Pūvaṇimāṇikka-Viṣṇugraham, i.e., the temple of ‘Bhuvanamāṇikya’. This word means, 'the ruby of the world'.

Please watch this enlightening lecture by Dr. #Nagaswamy titled "Lecture on water management in olden days"
Where Appa talks in great detail about the water management by the great #Kopperunchinga#Kadavan chieftain highlighting his #Tamil and #Sanskrit inscriptions.
"பேணு செந்தமிழ் வாழப் பிறந்த காடவ கோப்பெருஞ்சிங்க"
This is the #Tamil portion of #Kōpperuñjiṅga#inscription
1 ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ -சகலபுவனச்சக்கரவத்தி காடவன் அவனி ஆளப்பிறந்தான் கொப்பெருஞ்சிங்கன்

While adding index to Chapter 11 #Vedic#Courts in Tamil Nadu, the Land of Vedas (#TTLV) authored by my father Dr. #Nagaswamy, I came across this fantastic reference that Appa quotes "Ancient Hindu Judicature" authored by G.R. Rao in the year 1920.
