Xi Jinping's visit to Saudi Arabia is confirmed for Dec 7. While the US is nervous & angry, Middle East will continue to shift towards China/Asia for many reasons.

Even the ads in #FIFAWorldCup at Qatar reveal the difference between USA and China: Budweiser v. Hisense!
Hisense is the world's #2 household appliance company and makes TV, refrigerators, washing machines etc., which are all quite hi-tech now. Other popular Chinese ad: Vivo (smartphones)

Meanwhile, America has ads for beer and junk food (Coca Cola and McDonald's) in Qatar.
China has real skills and lots of money that it invests in pragmatic ways.

Chinese companies build stadiums, solar farms, 5G networks, entire cities and so on.

Arab countries also receive a lot of FDI from China.

Of course, China is the world’s #1 importer of oil and natural gas, making it the Middle East’s best customer.

In the future, Petro-Yuan will be a reality — when OPEC and others will sell oil for Chinese Yuan.

That will also be bad news for the dollar and US hegemony.
In 2016, Xi Jinping visited the Middle East for the first time. And Saudi Prince Salman (MBS) was at the airport to welcome Xi.

Both have long-term and strategic visions -- #BRI is key but not the only item.
Xi Jinping’s visit will also include the first China-Arab Summit. This will be a momentous event since the Chinese gov must have a really big vision and plan.

Not like the Trump-Arab Summit five years ago! 😃

USA doesn’t care about Africa but now is holding a summit of African leaders in Washington DC. Why?

CHINA!

But this kind of reactive policy will be ineffective.

China-Africa bilateral trade is whopping $250 billion. That’s 5x the US-Africa trade. Image
Every one of the 54 African countries has signed up for the Belt and Road Initiative (#BRI).

China builds highways, railways, seaports, airports, schools, hospitals, telecom networks, hydropower dams etc. in Africa.

America builds… MILITARY bases. ImageImage

School children in China: 1972 versus 2022!

#history #education ImageImage
The problem with the Western elites is that most of them are old — 60 or above.

And these people have frozen and deep impressions of China — like the first photo.

Hence, all the idiotic strategies and hubris.
Great quick blog by @prasadgc with lots of nice photos from a documentary about the transformation of schools in China.

More than 9 months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the masterminds in the US/EU are openly talking about “negotiations” and “peace.”

Here are all the ways their original glorious plans to defeat Putin have failed:
1. Shock-and-awe Economic War:

This was supposed to cripple the Russian economy and destroy the Russian Ruble. But it didn’t happen!
2. All of Russia’s foreign exchange reserves (worth $400 billion) were stolen!

Russia was cutoff from the SWIFT international transfer system.

American/European companies quickly left Russia.

There’s an interesting difference between “de jure” and “de facto” rules/laws.

And it explains America’s clever suppression of free speech.

Very short 🧵
“De jure” means by law. Something that’s explicitly mentioned in the law.

Since free speech is explicitly guaranteed in the US constitution, the government cannot impose a lot of censorship.

Although, they have made tons of exceptions over the years.
However, the US elites don’t want too many censorship laws in the books, since that would debunk their global propaganda about “freedom”.

How can they then demonize other countries and start wars?

Hence the “de facto” censorship!

Geopolitics for Dummies: Why did Putin invade Ukraine?

Will skip all the complexities and explain it so a 10-year-old can understand.
1. Nobody likes a dangerous neighbor. And Ukraine threatened Russia by wanting to join NATO, retake Crimea, and even acquire nuclear weapons.

It’s like Cuba wanting Russian missiles.
2. Black Sea is to Russia what Suez Canal is to Europe or Panama Canal is to the US.

This is also why Russia took back Crimea in 2014.

7 Reasons why US/EU won't be able to defeat Russia:
1. Most of the world has refused to sanction Russia. Governments representing 84% of the world's population continue to have normal relations with Russia.
2. There are huge protests and strikes all over Europe -- in UK, France, Germany etc. Many protests are also directly against NATO's involvement in Ukraine war.
