EPSB Reported a student absence rate of 5.91% for Friday December 2nd. This means around 6,466 students were not in class. CBE Reported an absence rate of 7.7% or 9,884 students out sick. CCSD reports 36 Schools, with absence rates OVER 10%. No exact numbers provided. 2/

In an email sent out by CCSD and posted on their website, they are now "Strongly Encouraging the use of masks in large group gatherings. This includes Christmas concerts, athletic events, etc., at schools that are not above 10% absenteeism." 3/

*NEW* The community of Cold Lake, will face MORE ER Closures this month. There are 6 closures scheduled this month, including Dec 9th (11pm-7am), Dec 12 (11pm to 3pm Dec 13), Dec 14, 17 & 20th (11pm -7am), and Christmas Eve 11pm to 7am. Closest ER Is Bonnyville Hospital. 4/

As mentioned last week, Bassano, Daysland & Consort have all had their ER Closures extended into the new year. Most will close overnight and re-open in the morning. Hardisty continues to face a full closure of its ER, and Tofield is now seeing daily ER Closures as well. 5/

*NEW* Boyle's Emergency Department will continue its daily closures from 9pm to 9am daily. It's Acute Care unit continues to see a full closure of all beds, until at least the New Year as well. 6/

*NEW* Lac La Biche, Three Hills, Sundre, Rimbey & Westlock continue to see a full OB Unit closure into 2023. Whitecourt is unable to take High Risk or C-Section OB Cases at this time, with no updates scheduled until the new year as well. 7/

*NEW* Fort Vermillion Hospital, has had to close 10 of 22 Acute Care beds this weekend due to staffing issues. This closure is not scheduled to have any further updates until January 1st 2023. 12 other Rural hospitals are in the same boat with bed closures on-going. 8/

*NEW* ACH has reduced services at 5 clinics within the hospital, in order to re-deploy staff. This effects those in Nephrology, Surgical, Ortho, GI & Pulmonary Function. ACH is hoping to have 10 new ER Nurses, ready to start in the new year to help. 9/

*NEW* as of 1:50PM this afternoon, there were over 30 Ambulances parked at Calgary Hospitals waiting to offload patients. SHC was the hardest hit, with EMS Wait times over 4+hrs and an Inpatient Capacity of over 125%. 10/

*REMINDER* Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service, closed at 2PM today due to no physicians available to cover until 10pm. The Clinic will re-open tomorrow at 7:30am. If you require medical assistance the closest ERs are Rocky Mountain House, Innisfail or Red Deer /15
