Here’s how I achieved in 30mins that which a global design team struggled with for months if not years

So we have new technology = proton-beam

The problem was a high RPM spinning shaft, going through a fire compartment wall & how do you make the fire seal.

Traditional fire stopping wouldn’t work eg

Intumescent seals would heat activate with the shafts RPM friction

Proprietary fire stopping systems or collars would have the same issue

We had to separate the patient treatment from the plant areas

This was urgently needed tech

Also rebuilt my Harley-Davidson from the ground-up with many different types of bearings involved

So was there a high-temp marine bearing which could be adopted?

Eureka moment when I found this commercial off the shelf - high temp - water (& smoke) tight marine bearing.

A split bearing which could be installed around the split shaft = 30min solution & statement of comfort to a big project problem.

I might not be a chartered (fire) engineer, but doesn’t mean I’m not a good engineer or a great consultant
