Important to note that Wilmot worked for KS Dept of Corrections @ Norton Correctional Facility for over 20 years. Later she served as Accreditation Manager

Senator Dave Murman is now introducing LB 374- Adopt the Parents’ Bill of Rights and Academic Transparency Act
Senator Murman has been doing some great work this session & we are happy to see him as chair of the Education Committee 📚 ✏
There will be much testimony on this bill

In case anyone forgot, Senator Conrad is here from the "Fightin 46th". She let us all know again.
One testifier in attendance just asked, "What's her problem?" while asking Murman numerous questions and ranting...
Another goes, "Maybe if she'd shut up she'd get her answers!"

Unbelievably, Senator Conrad actually left the room as constituents began testifying!! She had so many concerns but now isn't even listening to those here to testify! 🤦‍♂️

Can you even believe that? This is why so many people have showed up to testify today. People are sick of the indoctrination! Let's get 'back to basics'!

Committee now hearing testimony of how parents have no idea whats going on behind their backs while their children are at school
One parent spoke about how their child was using a different name at the behest of the teachers
The distrust of 'public schools' is @ an alltime a high

The decrease in parental involvement and the influence of teacher unions are contributing factors to the downtrend in national test scores. The focus on union protection and administrative policies can sometimes take precedence over student achievement. #SchoolChoice

This leads to a lack of accountability and a decrease in educational quality - Result is lower test scores & a failure to prepare students for success in higher education and the workforce.
We must prioritize student achievement and promote greater parental involvement in schools

There needs to be increased communication & collaboration between teachers, parents, & administrators as well as policies that support accountability. Only then will public education system can better serve the needs of children & help ensure that they receive a quality education

Someone speaking on behalf of Voices for Children Nebraska just said "parents’ rights are limited to “at home”"..
So once your children enter the school building parents LOSE their rights?

It is unfortunate, that as proponents are STILL testifying, Senator Conrad, who had so many "questions" this morning, has been more absent today than not while the proponents have been testifying. Sad! #wheresDanielle ??
