Three days ago, I outlined the pre-programed steps that would lead to the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine. Step 1: Media report of "discussions"; Step 2: Government denial of such discussions and intentions; Step 3: Announcement that F-16s will be sent. #UkraineWar 1/
It has not taken long for my outline to be substantiated. Today, the #NYTimes writes: "If the usual script plays out, the Biden administration’s reluctance to provide the planes could be temporary, officials say." 2/
This means, the decision to send the fighters has been all but made. Nothing remains but the working out of the political details within NATO and the launching of the media propaganda campaign of lies to sell the decision to a skeptical public. 3/
What comes after the delivery of F-16s? Probably, reports of discussions to send NATO military personnel to Ukraine, followed by official denials of any such plans, and, not long after, the announcement that troops will be deployed to stop "Russian atrocities." 4/
The logic of military escalation is at work. Each step generates the necessity for further escalation, all the way to all out war with Russia. Having tied the prestige of US-led NATO to victory over Russia, the Biden administration will escalate all the way to nuclear war. 5/
The only way to stop the imperialist drive to catastrophe is through the building of a global movement of the working class and young people to force an end to the war, based on an anti-capitalist and international socialist program. 6/6
