Reasons:
1- Caste system wasn’t just oppressive, it was also pervasive, manipulative, coercion.
The theories of Karma, the ‘Birth from the toe’, the ‘Sins of past lives’ etc were used by the ‘philosophers’ to manipulate the victims into believing they deserved their fate. #Thread
Slavery lasted in Europe for thousands of years. Trans Atlantic slave trade in America lasted for 250 years
Despite of the fact that these slaves were not manipulated and preconditioned to believe that ‘they deserved it due to past life sins’.
Does that mean slavery didn’t exist?
The extent of how pervasive this Caste practices shit is that even today people practice Caste in each facet of their lives while constantly denying caste discrimination ever existed?? How do you live with this cognitive dissonance??
Even today we ONLY ostentatiously criticize the ‘negative casteism’ like violence, denial of access to temples and public resources etc just when we sort of ‘have to’ because that’s just bad optics if you don’t.
The other Casteist practices we just take as daily life.
Caste endogamy,
Caste chauvinism,
Caste based social groups…. All these are not considered ‘evil’ just a ‘tradition’ or ‘way of life’. Because, clearly there is nothing wrong for someone to be Proud of their accident of birth in a ‘Higher’ caste, seemingly.
…but these practices keep the concept of Caste Separation, Caste Definition and thus the stratification of ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ alive.
This still provides a scaffolding for future generations to continue being discriminatory in their lives.
That is how pervasive this system is.
The extent of how deeply manipulative and evil the concept of Caste system is shown in the unfortunate facts that even the oppressed castes practice caste discrimination amongst them because even they have been brainwashed into accepting this even in 2023.
And that is why there are scarce reports of ‘Caste Rebellion’ in the ancient India.

That was extended point 1: Deep, sustained, pervasive manipulative religious dogmas.
2- History is recorded by the victors.

Who knows? There may have been plenty of attempts to defy and uprise by smaller groups of various castes in 2000 years. They were not the times of social media and wide spread community movements. They were crushed and wiped off records.
They didn’t have the tools, resources and confidence to mount an uprising so large that would uproot the top echelons and they be able to record their own history- Ah wait!!! Maybe that’s why they were barred from literacy so they could not tell their narrative?? Evil design!
3- Segmentation.
The Kshayriyas had a mechanism for social contact- the government/ Durbar/ Army etc. The Brahmins had educational and religious institutes. The Vaishya had their markets.
The Shudra were divided in multiple castes across the society without common platform.
They did not have the slightest idea what the sheer strength in numbers they had and what their cumulative strength could be because they were by design fragmented. That is why ‘Sangathan’ (Union) was one of the one of the three primary principles Ambedkar promoted.
4- Finally: there were many occasions or uprise and fight back, but maybe they are only recorded in more modern times after the history became more readily recorded and shared. Kerala, Dravidian movement, Periyar, Phule, Ambedkar etc. Wasn’t Bhima-Koregaon a Caste Conflict?
The Bhakti movement, Buddhism, Dayanand, Arya Samaj etc all were attempts at correction of Caste problem. It just wasn’t an ‘uprising’ enough for you because it was not ‘French Revolution’ style?? Is that what you were looking for??
To conclude: Next time a woman dies of domestic violence in a 10 year old relationship, would you assume the relationship wasn’t so toxic because she didn’t complain and fight back earlier? #End
“Why didn’t you rebel in 2000 years?” They ask.
Remember #Hathras as recently as 2020?
Dalit girl gang-raped, murderer, evidence destroyed and the body unlawfully cremated by the Police and family and supporters threatened by Thakurs?
What hope did they have earlier?
Maybe there were caste uprise incidents at times. Maybe Phule’s interpretation of Hindu mythologies as a caste conflict was true to some extent. Maybe the Rakshasa/ Asur were actually the dissidents against the ranks.

Context: when a woman gives birth by a cesarean section, the surgeon (“Gyne babes” for this anesthesia trainee) asks the anesthetist to inject Oxytocin at certain time. This helps uterus contract to control bleeding from the uterus. This bleeding can be life threatening. #Thread
The operating obstetrician has no objective measure of whether oxytocin injection is given to the woman giving birth. The uterine tone is ‘felt’ but the actual effect is in blood loss.
This guy, a trainee anesthetist, is proudly saying he is not administering an injection that could mean life or death for the women giving birth just because he knows the ‘gyne babes’ can’t objectively check on him.
Threatening a patient’s life to deride female surgeons.

The suggested pathology of #Mucormycosis is a unique recipe that #Covid has brought together.
There are many reasons it doesn’t happen more often or in all chronic Steroid using patients.
Covid infection causes thrombosis- which means blood clots within small blood vessels. That’s why appropriate cases are given anti-coagulation therapy like heparin/enoxiparin.
High dose steroid also contributes to this coagulopathy. #Mucormycosis
Many #Covid patients getting heart attack, brain stroke etc. that’s because of the same reason- thrombosis or clots within small vessels stop blood supply to these organs. #Mucormycosis

So there is this ‘shaven sikh’ NRI family, they’re ‘more sikh than Nanak’, so to say, since the farmer protests. It’s been interesting to see their actions for last few months.
First, they’re not ‘religious’ at all. Heavy drinkers, indulge in all sorts of ‘proteins’ like me…
Ever since the farmer protests, you see very regular ‘How Sikhs are great’ and farmer eulogies, religious pride and praise of the convenient Gurus in their social media presence- Insta and FB.
A very distinct feature- they absolutely avoid all mention of ‘Some Gurus’.
IYKWIM, they have praises for Guru Nanak, for Sufi connections with Sikhi, for farmers connection with Sikhi….
Somehow you see Guru Tegh Bahadur has been made a ‘persona non grata’ for social media narrative by the NRI British-Canadian Sikhs.
Show me if this is wrong.

Shocking news from Gujarat. #AmarJoshi a Brahmin in Gujarat’s Muslim dominant village had his farm encroached by one Aslam and when he filed a case, the cop was one PSI Khan.
Then a mob attacked Joshi at his home, murdered him with sword and injured his daughter.
#Thread
The people who encroached #AmarJoshi ‘s land are connected. The Police Sub-inspectora was Khan is their relative. Another one in the family - one Moyina Bi won the municipal elections as a corporator. Their mob while celebrating victory attacked #AmarJoshi’s home and killed him.
No mainstream media is covering this case despite this happening in BJP rules Gujarat state. If we could gather such a massive internet crowd for #RinkuSharma, please spare a thought for #AmarJoshi too and ask for justice.
