@theSNP Members,

Do you want a Leader who can win independence?

@HumzaYousaf says he'll fight for Gender Recognition Reform (#GRR) at the UK Supreme Court.

50% of the public say this policy would make them less likely to vote for independence.

"TI Men" (Trans Identifying Men) are:

"biologically male people who identify as female, but who have NOT undergone sex change surgery and still have male genitalia".

The following tweets will explore @HumzaYousaf's views on TI Men compared to the Public and SNP voters.

Yousaf says that because the GRR was passed by the Scottish Parliament and blocked by WM that any leader has to defend the democratic legitimacy of the Scottish Democracy.

But that is a myth.

The GRR bill was pushed through Parliament in spite of huge opposition from the Public Image
@HumzaYouaf says GRR was in the SNP Manifesto.

Self-ID was not in any manifesto.

@NicolaSturgeon did say:

"We will ensure that these changes do not affect the rights or protections that women currently have under the Equality Act."

Self-ID betrayed this commitment. Image
@AshReganSNP resigned as a Minister of the Scottish Government specifically because the GRR bill DID "affect the rights or protections that women currently have under the Equality Act".

@AshReganSNP was defending @theSNP manifesto commitments that @NicolaSturgeon abandoned. Image
@HumzaYousaf argues that GRR was democratic because it had cross-party support.

All parties, except Tories, whipped their MSPs to vote for the Bill or face possible expulsion.

If voters at any level are forced how to vote it is anything but democratic.

scotsman.com/news/politics/…
- Huge Public opposition.

- No mandate.

- Forced through Parliament.

How could it possibly have passed?

#Lobbying

The Entire Parliament was captured. Image
The GRR Consultation was widely criticised by women's organisations like @ForWomenScot

"evidence from women’s groups has not been given sufficient, if any, consideration and if it passes into law the impact felt by women and children will be devastating"

forwomen.scot/08/10/2022/gen…
This @ForWomenScot report also identified that:

"15,500 responses from individuals were not published and have been largely unanalysed".

While there were only 165 responses published from organisations.

At the same time, Parliament had secretly been captured by Lobbyists. Image
While only 165 responses from organisations across Scotland had been published in the Consultation,

Stonewall, Equality Network & LGBT Youth Scotland had been provided with 265 meetings between them.

All were working together and even attending each others registered meetings. ImageImageImage
They gained access to 101 Parliamentarians

96 MSPs

13 Ministers

Including the First Minister

A First Minister's Special Advisor

A then acting Deputy Presiding Officer

And a future Presiding Officer.

These provided 254 contacts with MSPs

And 51 contacts with Ministers.
18 meetings with Patrick Harvie (2 as Minister)

16 - Christina McKelvie (15 as Minister)

12 - Shirley-Anne Somerville (All as Minister)

11 - Monica Lennon

9 - Pauline McNeill

8 - Alex Cole-Hamilton, Mary Fee

7 - Shona Robison (All as Minister)

6 - 7 MSPs

305 engagements.
First Minister @NicolaSturgeon met with Equality Network, in her constituency office.

But this was about national issues, including the delays in the Gender Recognition consultation and even questions in the Census. Image
Coincidentally, @NicoaSturgeon's SpAd, Liz Lloyd met with Iain Anderson, before he became either the UK Government's first LGBT business champion or Stonewall's Chair.

The meeting on 28-02-2020 is registered as discussing Financial Technology. ImageImage
Topics registered for meetings reflect not only the GRR bill passed by Parliament, but also why Harvie & Chapman said GRR was only the start.

44 meetings - GRCs for under-16s

17 - Schools & education

13 - Hate Crime Bill

93 - legalising Non-binary status

29 - the Census
More disturbing, Equality Network engaged with 4 MSPs to influence the Historical Sexual Offences (Pardons & Disregards) (Scotland) Bill.

He met Alex Cole-Hamilton, Ivan McKee & Mary Fee.

With Jamie Greene, they propose a disregard scheme for PVGs AND making people aware of it. Image
Sturgeon found she could no longer defend Self-ID after Adam Graham.

Her Self-ID policy created risks for women & children.

@NicolaSturgeon was wrong.

@HumzaYousaf is still wrong.

And @AshReganSNP was not only courageous and principled to resign as a minister.

She was right.

In all the chaos of @NicolaSturgeon's GRR mess, little attention has been paid to the lobbyists behind it; #Stonewall.

The Scottish Parliament's Lobbying web-pages are quite interesting.

Stonewall registered as a lobbyist at the Scottish Parliament in 2018.

Since then they have registered 81 meetings.

These meetings provided 102 contacts with MSPs.

Of these, 18 contacts were with Ministers.
These meetings gave access to 55 different MSPs.

20 MSPs met them more than once.

The gained direct access to 7 Ministers
