22nd march is Telugu, Kannada and Maharashtra’s New Year ’s Day. We call it ‘Ugadi’. In Maharashtra it is called Gudi Padwa.

It is also celebrated as ‘Nav-Samvatsar’ in entire North India.

“Bhadra” in Sanskrit means “blessed, auspicious, fortunate, prosperous, happy”. Bhadrakali is a name/aspect of Kali, specifically Kali in Her benevolent, auspicious, protective mood, as opposed to Her more terrible moods of death and destruction, etc.
