🔍 Key resources included using a combination of @googlemaps, Google Earth Pro, and @suncalc_net. But the most important in determining the location was @mapillary. Sources from @Telegram and @Twitter accounts sharing content was also vital. #OSINT
.@mapillary was very useful to @bellingcat in unpacking the shooting of Shireen Abu Akleh, a prominent Palestinian-American journalist working with Al Jazeera outside #Jenin in 2022.
🔍 The targeted killings took place on Yahiya Ayyash Street, a street close to Abu Bakr Street. The two hit squads were captured from seven angles on the street in question.
🎥 Surveillance footage captured the exact moment 14-year-old Omar Mohammed Awadin was shot by gunfire in front of Samer Al Sanuri Jewelry.
🎥This came moments before undercover Israeli forces were captured chasing down one of their targets, Youssef Shreim, past Samer Al Sanuri Jewelry.
🔴 After killing Youssef Shreim, the two squads proceeded to retreat their two cars. One Israeli gunman proceeded to put a bullet in the head of an already motionless Nidal Khazem. It is unclear whether he was dead or alive before being shot in mobile footage below.
🚗 One squad made a quick escape, but the other ran into trouble on Almalek Fysal Street around the corner from the main commercial district on Abu Bakr Street where gunfire was used to disperse a crowd mobbing their car.
The raids in #Jenin and the wider West Bank come at a time of rapidly escalating violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and a major political crisis in Israel. news.sky.com/story/israel-i…

On 11th March, a five-minute clip has been circulating on Facebook and Twitter, showing armed men throwing a man onto a fire in #Ethiopia.
Several other prisoners had already been burnt to death before the man’s murder by the Ethiopian soldiers and government-linked militias.
Due to the disturbing and graphic nature of this video, I will not be sharing it in full as it is too graphic for @Twitter. DM me if you want access to the full video.
As the Ethiopian army advances, upsetting images and videos have emerged of the alleged killing of prisoners outside Tinishu Rebi/Chefa Robit in Wello during December.
The images and videos available on social media accounts have shown bodies in a pit on a roadside in #Ethiopia varying states of decomposition in December.
@Quen10Tarantino and I will not be sharing some parts of the images and videos as they are too graphic for @Twitter
According to a resident, the people in the pit were from prison. Their bodies were recognised by locals.
They were allegedly executed by #Ethiopia’s security forces who are in control of the nearby town.
This is a second video of the same shot of #Eritrea and #Ethiopia's forces. (shared by @mvreisen). Several Twitter accounts have alleged a 'handover' of weapons did not occur or that video was 'fake'.
As part of my #OSINT@bellingcat homework, I've set out to show why it isn't.
This is the second video was also shared by @mvreisen.
The footage was captured at 07:08am on 5th November in #Eritrea, only days after fighting broke out in the #Tigray region.
The region, and #Ethiopia, have spiralled into a brutal civil war.
Eritrean forces have taken part in the conflict, and have been accused of committing war crimes in #Tigray. First, the location. Where is it? According to the tweet shared by @mvreisen, the video is located in Mukuti, #Eritrea.
