“Make Bitcoin Magical Again”. In a context where momentum has slowed relative to other chains, Udi AKA “Taproot Wizard #0001”, wants to ignite renewed interest and innovation in btc. The focus will be on educating the community to become proactive in the btc ecosystem
The wizard?
The art is a throwback to the beautifully simple, historically significant Bitcoin Wizard meme created by @mavensbot and posted to the popular Reddit r/Bitcoin on 18 Feb 2013. On it, “r/Bitcoin..magic internet money..join us” lead to huge growth in the btc community
The Taproot Wizards clearly pay homage to this - “Magic internet jpegs..join us..taprootwizards.com” inviting the community to join, participate and support btc.
18 Feb 2023, the 10 year anniversary of the iconic meme, @mavensbot was revealed as actively involved with the TW art
With support from @TaprootWizards and @udiWertheimer, @mavensbot sold out (over 6btc) a collection of 1337 unique @BitcoinWizards to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the iconic meme. The sale required users to pay via lightning wallet.
The inscriptions
2121 total. All have bc1pvf7uxmffr0ekzm6cnynf2tsvgk3p9k636s3lud08zju756ce2nzsml4shw as grandparent - be aware of fakes.
The first taproot wizard, #0001 “Bald Wizard”, was inscribed extraordinarily early within the first thousand ordinals ever - #652
@smolgrrr is #0005 “Wizard Bear”, inscription #2625
And so on, note the gradual inscription and reveal which built huge interest and anticipation.
Most of the taproot wizards collection were inscribed and revealed by the 10th anniversary of @mavensbot meme -
18 Feb 2023. Others still to come. The latest one is @CryptoHayes PFP, inscribed on 23 March
On Feb 1 2023, @udiWertheimer and @hash_bender@LuxorTechTeam coordinated the mining of the biggest Btc block ever - 774628, 3.96mb in size (current limit is 4mb with segwit). This contained the inscription for Taproot Wizard #0001.
The inscription transaction was 3.94mb in size, being higher resolution and took up over 99% of block
This technical feat, a world first, showed true innovation and Udi’s philosophy to “do whatever the Bitcoin protocol allows us”
In this block were 63 transactions and the 6.25 BTC ($149,000) reward, which went to Luxor.
How to get one?
It’s apparent the team want a community that is committed, proactive and dedicated to growing Btc.
The majority of the sale seems to be via whitelist and to gain a chance at access the team have set up an educational and participatory series of quests:
Quest recap
Quest 1: “Struck by Lightning” (closed after few days) - transact several dollars in btc on lightning network. Led to $19,000 being donated to Bitcoin Dev Fund. This supports and funds various Bitcoin projects, developers and Bitcoin Core contributors.
Quest 2: “Pledging Allegiance”(closed after few days) - add wizard icon to twitter profile and tweet.
Quest 3: “#Wizardshower” - film and post a video of taking a shower/bath of some sort in a wizard costume. Must get fully wet.
The latest bitcoin soft fork which batches multiple signatures and transactions for faster transactions. Also scrambles signatures for increased privacy.
All I know is @TaprootWizards and Bitcoin has captured my imagination for the past 60 days and I can’t wait to continue the journey.
@0xfar reckon this would be possible? To somehow use the twitter video submissions to gate minting an inscription collection for a participation trophy? Could inscribe twitter name and “Taproot Wizards shower power!” Or something
Just me findings interesting inscriptions. *not sponsored, bag=0
- The first motion inscriptions on #BTC
- 3 chapters of 7 pieces each inspired by BTC, crypto, mathematics
- chapter 1 inscription range 452-641
- Love the artistic inspiration- “1st chapter called "Do Not Fiat" is a series observing the hostile FIAT environment in which Bitcoin has been born from the ashes of GFC. Such a contemporary landscape remains a living organism - loop, with other cryptocurrencies added over time.”
- “The coming iteration of 7 NFTs have a time progression with Object 0 being a circular donut of currency interaction. Over time, these objects are deciphered into abstraction [Object 1 to 5] and the rare 6th has the BTC logo demonstrating adversity against
government currency”

- Art is unique and original. AI base, then heavy design edit.
- Not a derivative. Gold rush aesthetic is pretty culture-fitting I think.
- Tweeted by @rodarmor himself
- 5 inscriptions in the first 50 have BTC history easter eggs
- Rarity – miners, cowboys, panners, historical references, 1/1s
- Sale pending. Mint cost 0.01BTC/0.15ETH flat rate.
- 50 (within 3319-3485) inscriptions to be sold first, a second batch of 50 to be sold later
- Sub #1000 inscriptions are always going to be sought after. History.
- like many I bought a few inscriptions just to be close to that 1000 mark
- out of FOMO paid a lot for some, including on the controversial bonding curve
1/
- as we near #6000, with exponential increase in just 2 days, things will get bloated soon
- There are multiple quality projects (imo) inscribed later at 2K, 3K,4K and you can bet many more will come.
2/
- Equally it’s just takes a minute to scroll on the ordinal website to see that some early inscription collections may have some red flags(subjective)
- perhaps this means we shouldn’t be too wedded to inscription number
New #ordinals project - @timechainord
- inscriptions 355-377
- inspiration for the timepieces theme was @dergigi's Bitcoin is Time.
- 3 of the 21 are rare calendar stones

2/
- "the only #inscription collection that includes a gpg signature with all digital artwork for provenance. This allows you to verify the authenticity of your art."
- there is no discord AFAIK
