2/ There are LOADS of such jobs out there atm, not least due to the new Arts Council contracts kicking in;
I start a fab new role @bradford2025 tomorrow, but have been asked for tips a lot lately - so I've compiled this for everyone, at all career stages!
Please do share 🙏🙌✨
3/ Obvious place to start: @GuardianJobs. Good UK-wide coverage, but quite weighted towards London. Some orgs don’t list here because of the cost. Also tweeting @GJ_Arts & @GJ_Arts_London
4/ @Jobsgopublic (also @Jobsgoalerts) – the main portal for local government jobs. Local government funding remains in a tight spot, but you’ll still find museum, library and other cultural jobs here.
6/ Likewise - though you’ll need to sift through many academic and administrative roles - many universities have museums, theatres, libraries and wider creative opportunities, so @jobsacuk is a good source
11/ The @ACEnterprises website carries listings for public and commercial jobs in museums, theatre, and heritage - especially management and leadership roles:
12/ National Museum Jobs – maintained by the National Museum Directors’ Council (@nmdcnews), this is mainly a listing site for England’s national and major regional museums.
All jobs at the national (ie directly DCMS-funded) museums are listed here:
15/ University of Leicester Museums Studies Jobs Desk (@LeicsMusStud) – a bit of a ‘sector secret’, this one has a good range of museums jobs listed, and is updated regularly.
19/ A sequence of Scottish ones, next - Creative Scotland’s (@CreativeScots) opportunities hub – listing arts/heritage jobs across Scotland (the first one here that requires sign-in)
20/ @goodmovesjobs – search site run by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (@scvotweet). Lists roles right across the charities sector, but plenty of cultural ones here too.
22/ A few for English regions, now; @Create_Jobs – apprenticeships, traineeships and other early career opportunities and work placements for young people in London, maintained by @A_New_Direction & supported by @Create_London
34/ Back to a website that carries listings beyond the creative/cultural - but if you’re interested in jobs in funding (in the arts and beyond), then Association of Charitable Foundations @ACFoundations are well worth visiting:
36/ Recruitment agencies would be a whole separate thread, but - especially for more senior roles - these can be a great option. @saxtonbampfylde is a good example:
37/ Finally for now (!) – the jobs search function on @LinkedIn continues to improve, seeming to offer jobs that are ever-more relevant to users’ skills and interests:
2/...But it would be good to see a proper analysis of the armed far-right in both countries;
Some minor reports note the paramilitary Azov Battalion & Right Sector in Ukraine, but almost none detail core far-right elements both of Donbas separatists & the Russian army #Newsnight
3/ I can't believe that no mainstream outlets have recently analysed Putin's ideological debt to Dugin, given the eerie alignment between the former's wild war rhetoric on Ukrainian 'illegitimacy' and the views of the latter.
