On 20th April 2021, #Pfizer requested waiver for summary of drug utilization rate because data on drug utilization rates in females of reproductive potential was not available for BNT162b2 (mRNA).

among females of reproductive potential because no clinical evidence existed at any point throughout clinical development to indicate that vaccination posed any elevated risk to women of this group.

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) stated that based on current knowledge (animal tests), COVID-19 vaccines unlikely posed a risk to the pregnant women or the fetus because authorized COVID-19 vaccines are non-replicating vaccines.

No evidence exists of risk to the fetus from
vaccinating pregnant women with non-replicating vaccines in general.

ACIP mentions that potential risk of COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant person and the fetus are unknown because these vaccines have not been studied in pregnant people.

So, my questions is - if authorized COVID-19 vaccines are non-replicating vaccines why would ACIP say in the same breath that COVID-19 vaccines risk to pregnant women and the fetus is unknown.

Pfizer/BioNTech also submitted a request for waiver for pregnancy registry report because they didn't maintain a pregnancy exposure registry that evaluates obstetric, neonatal, and/or infant outcomes among women vaccinated during pregnancy to prevent COVID-19.
