And this happened between Sept/Oct. 2021 to March 2022 when children were "safe" in "structured activities" in schools and daycares. (sarcasm)
Vaccine for the <5 years only became available in BC in early August 2022.

"recent study sequenced 105 RSV + specimens from symptomatic patients diagnosed wt RSV during autumn 2022 surge & showed that viral characteristics didn't contribute to extent or severity of the surge" Meaning you can't blame the virus for more severe disease.

"Patients infected with COVID-19 can have long-lasting changes in both innate and lymphocyte based immune functions, precisely the systems most engaged in defense against respiratory viruses."

"These findings further support our hypothesis that COVID-19 had adverse impact on the immune and respiratory systems of children, making them susceptible to severe respiratory viral infections from RSV and other viruses."
