"Secular" Kerala Story of Madrasa Students Atmika and Aishika
Kerala is once again becoming a glowing example of "secularism." The story reported by Asianet News revolves around Atmika, a 6th standard student, and her younger sister, who is in the first standard.
What makes them "unique"? They both study at a nearby madrasa. Every morning, they wake up early and attend "secular" classes on the Quran and Arabic. Afterward, they proceed to their regular school. #KeralaStory

These sisters are the children of "secular parents," Babu and Kavitha. I believe these two parents deserve “an award” for their approach. Babu and Kavitha probably understood that the culture their children were born into, had "nothing positive to offer." #Kerala

After all, “what good” are scriptures like Vedas, Upanishads, Gita etc. I’m glad they decided to send them to the madrasa in the morning instead of choosing to enroll them for yoga or something similar. #Kerala#KeralaStory
4/8
Yoga would have made them healthier and more peaceful physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically. Yoga would have transformed their life in ways unimaginable. But I’m sure they realized that madrasa education would make them more “peaceful” which is most important.
5/8
These parents must have realized that the above-mentioned scriptures of the “primitive religion” with quotes like “Vasudaiva Kutumbakam” are anyway “outdated”. And Yoga has Surya Namaskar which is "antiminority" and "highly communal". #Kerala#KeralaStory

But studying in a madrasa is "highly secular", as Asianet News implies in their report when they proudly declared in the title (translated from Malayalam) – “A Kerala story in the sunrise of Kayanni” (Kayanni is the name of the place). #KeralaStory#Kerala

In any case, in another few years these sisters will most probably get married to grooms who are also “educated” and well versed in madrasa education. Parents across the country especially those outside Kerala, must look at these two parents. Please learn something from them.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Controversial Welcome for Sexual Harassment Accused Savad Sha: Kerala
Do you remember Savad Sha? No, he isn’t a celebrity. He was arrested for sexually harassing his co-passenger in a KSRTC bus on May 19th. He was released on bail yesterday. #kerala

Now comes the funny part. Savad was garlanded and welcomed by the All Kerala Men's Association outside the Aluva Sub jail upon being released on bail yesterday. Here's a video of the "welcome" he received. 2/5
President of this association Ajit Kumar, now claims that Savad is innocent and this was done by the victim to increase her Instagram following.

Here is another judgment from the Kerala High Court that feels like a slap in the face for those following the indigenous faith in Kerala.

In a plea moved against a man to stop ritualistic animal sacrifice in a temple like structure he built at his residence, the court quoted Ambedkar: "True religious practice should be guided by reason, equality, and humanistic values rather than blind adherence to traditions.
2/10
All unhealthy, unscientific, and deleterious practices are to be prevented, even if they are done in the name of religion." I read this again to make sure I was reading it right. The court has quoted Ambedkar on a matter concerning a religious ritual.

Man Arrested for Sexual Harassment in a Bus:Kerala
Savad Sha, is a name that has gained popularity in Kerala since last evening, albeit for the wrong reasons. He was arrested for misbehaving with a girl in a bus. Attached are his images from his Facebook profile.
The incident came to light after the girl, Nanditha, took to social media to talk about it and also posted a video of the incident that she herself shot. From the images, it appears that he is associated with the Muslim League of Kerala in some manner. #KeralaNews

So, this is what Nanditha narrates in her video: She was on her way from Thrissur to Kochi when Savad boarded the bus and sat on a reserved women's seat next to Nanditha. Soon, the man started touching her inappropriately.

1921 Malabar riots, Gandhi and a Malayalam Movie:
Malabar riots of 1921 often called the “Moplah rebellion” is a topic that was not discussed openly in Kerala until recently (“Moplah” is a term used to refer to Kerala Muslims)
1/36
Moplah riots have always been whitewashed by the Congress and the left historians as freedom struggle against the British. However, the reality is something else!
2/36
Any sensible society would know that reopening old wounds can only disturb the goodwill that exists in the society between various communities. Therefore, these riots were never a part of political discourse at least in the last 30-40 years.

Raghuram Rajan is back! And I must say that he has remarkable ability to stay in the headlines. A couple of months ago, he was seen walking with India's "forever future PM" Rahul Gandhi, thereby openly displaying his loyalty to the Congress. #RaghuramRajan 1/4
According to him, India is dangerously close to what he calls the "Hindu rate of growth". This is a term coined by late Indian economist Raj Krishna to refer to the slow growth rate of India during 1950-1980. Why don't you call it the "Nehruvian rate of growth" Mr. Rajan?
2/4
Why bring back a term that is outdated and is irrelevant? And how are Hindus to blame for the inefficiency of Congress? Further, the growth rate during that period was below 4%, whereas we are growing at around 7% now, and is the fastest growing major economy in the world.
