Alright. After the just awful journalism I have seen in the last few days & some of the just god awful reporting by @samanthamaiden it's time to break down the whole saga that kicked off the review of Parliament

To be clear @samanthamaiden works for News Week. A publication own by Rupert Murdoch. A man who has an interest in discrediting abusers of sexual assault. Do I expect her to be judicious in her reporting? Based on how she has treated a rape as her own personal cash cow... NOPE.

I've been thinking about it and I feel like the reporting in the last few days have been a result of the @LNPQLD being in serious trouble with women. And it's bad. How have they combated that? Helping Lehrmann by disseminating his case. None of which has been believable.

Where is it coming from? I believe it to be mostly this man: who is clearly taking his anger out on the subject of his next project to manipulate the views of the judge before any trial can get underway. And two embarrassments won't go down well #auspol theguardian.com/australia-news…

Don't take my word for it the judge in Lehrmann's own defamation proceeding who found him to be a LIAR. #defamation

These stories and pressure on @AustralianLabor have been an attempt, in my opinion, to distract from the fact that they just preselected a sex pirate against the incredible candidate @letitia4fadden which hasn't helped them and is when this all started up #auspol

Lehrmann was highly connected in the @LNPQLD. @lindareynoldswa was not his only boss. In his defamation affidavit he outlines the fact that he worked for Mckenzie & a handful of others. He knowingly exploited these connections to help British American Tobacco avoid fines.

Nikki Sava reported in her book Bulldozed that @lindareynoldswa allege Kitching had told her Labor was going to weaponise the issue. Sava disproved those allegations in her reporting & I trust Sava since she's one of those veteran reporters who still fact-checks. (A rarity)

Personally, I have never believed Reynolds that Kimberly would do this. She was tough-as-nails Labor. She might have felt that Labor needed to be tougher on China would never act like that. I do believe she was kind. And she made a mistake in trusting Reynolds. #auspol #lyingcow

I believe, as many in Labor do, that Reynolds sensing a tactical moment and advantage to be gained, used Kimberly's trusting nature. She has always held the keys on the investigation from the start on what was leaked & what was withheld and buried the rest #CoverUp #auspol #icac

I doubt Kimberly was aware of it. At this point we knew she was starting to get sick from thyroid issues leading up to her hear-attack, which can cause problems that masquerade as heart disease. Reynolds would have been in the perfect position to arrange evidence in her favour.📱

Again this information was obtained and published by @samanthamaiden The question I have for @samanthamaiden is how much information do you actually have of the incident? Who are you in contact with? And are you actually questioning who you are being used by? #auspol #journalism

How in the same instance can @samanthamaiden appear on Insiders TODAY alleging @SenKatyG was weaponising the issue & had been planning to for months when journalists have investigated & confirmed from multiple sources that was not the case? #auspol

It appears @samanthamaiden is not reporting here by just bobbing along with the instructions of her overlords at the Murdoch Press. @SenKatyG is a veteran professional & the LNP have no woman even commensurate. It's clear this has become about a take down. #auspol #womencrisis

What was known by Kristina Keneally, Kimberley Kitching, @SenatorWong and @SenKatyG & @sarahinthesen8 was that there was a rape. The indication that @SenKatyG has misled parliament is just absurd and a complete deflect #auspol

You cannot blame @SenKatyG for being careful with the details of a potential rape victim. We all know how brutal politics can be. She was still in the fact-finding stage & for all she knew @BrittHiggins_ could have been an embittered staffer whose claim had been refuted #auspol

During the Morrison Years you had to know all the facts because you were dealing with a pack of people who were just unashamedly corrupt. Mckenzie is literally the reason why we have a National Anti Corruption Commission because of the sports rorts #auspol

So you can blame @BrittHiggins_ for not being the perfect victim. She was in her 20s. Young. Against a system and group of men that believed she was a liar. And a collection of women like Cash and Reynolds who knew it was their job to protect those men at all costs #auspol

You can blame @SenKatyG for maybe being too careful with a potential rape victim and wanting to thoroughly hear the side of the Morrison government before proceeding but you can't blame her for misleading the Parliament while walking that tightrope.

Also word to the wise the defamation case against @samanthamaiden was discontinued by Lehrmann and his team earlier this month. We do not know the terms of the settlement outlined but I would not be surprised to find an exchange of private information for Sam to publish at will.

The media played a role in the rape accusations not being tested in Court for either Lehrmann or Higgins. I can't imagine how politicians who were actually interested in doing their job competently had to navigate a possible commission of a crime on Parliament's grounds.
