(This sequence is also found in earlier Indian works, but I found Hemacandra(~1088–1173)'s exposition clearest and easiest to understand.)
Here's the Fibonacci sequence in Virahāṅka's Vṛtta-jāti-samuccaya. (6th century?) (Just rule given here; elaborated in commentary by Gopāla)

@sridatta_a Finally archive.org/stream/in.erne… here's commentator यादवप्रकाश interpreting a sūtra of Piṅgala (centuries BC) as a rule which gives Fibo nos.
