Inside a Jony Ive garage.
It’s difficult to describe this place. Disney World may be closest thing. Everything feels like it is where it is for a reason.
Looking inside Steve Jobs Theater, the scale is woah. Feels and looks like some kind of Egyptian or Space structure.
Decent number of Apple employees mixed in with press. Looks like everyone is lumped into one group.
Very scenic. (And I just got kicked out of this space/path).
Woz just chilling inside taking pics with people.
The Spaceship landing.
The roof is held up just by glass.
Jony and Marc Newson.
Jony is showing Marc Newson around. No one seems to be noticing them.
I just can’t get over these stairs. So majestic.
Initial verdict of $14,000 seat: comfortable.
Initial walk down.
Inside.
Seats up front are more like benches with a few arm rests that extend down. Seats up top have permanent arm rests.
The nice thing about this theater is the stage feels much more intimate than past few iPhone events and WWDC (felt more like a concert).
The glass at Steve Jobs Theater is intriguing.
Apple Watch is now the best selling watch brand (in terms of revenue), ahead of Rolex.
Apple Watch Series 3. Boom.
Apple Watch Series 3 accepts voice calls using your same phone number (there was some unknown about that).
Ceullar Apple Watch is as thin as Apple Watch Series 2. That’s remarkable.
What a cool demo.
New Apple Watch band alert.
$399 for cellular Apple Watch. $249 starting price for Series 1.
These Apple ads are on point.
No Apple TV price cuts. Very telling.
Apple is running through this iPhone 8 and 8 Plus introduction super quick. Gee, I wonder why.
Starting to think Apple isn’t going to mention the leaks (in a joking way).
Wow. Higher prices for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Didn’t see that coming.
iPhone Ten
Audience doesn’t know when to clap. Someone in front (Craig or Eddy?) seem to be the ones with those initial yelps.
And the crowd goes nuts for animated emojis.
Ouch. First iPhone X demo highlighting benefit of no home button failed.
An increasing number of people: “The iPhone is becoming too hard to use. I think I’m going to just buy a cellular Apple Watch.”
Animoji highlight of presentation (judging by crowd reaction).
Apple just announced new AirPods (updated case) and they barely even mentioned it. Weird.
When was the last time Jony appeared in a Jony video?
iPhone X for $999. Ships November 3rd.
Apple cut iPhone SE pricing by $50.
The $399 iPhone price floor just shattered.
No HomePod at this event. Looks like one more Apple event is in store for 2017.
The wall is gone.
It is possible that Apple just has a press release for HomePod at some point. May not be enough unknown left for actual event.
Apple Watch Series 3. Look for the red Digital Crown. Otherwise, can’t tell the difference between older Apple Watches.
The green dots on Watch face denote cellular. Won’t get alerts or buzzes denoting cellualr on/off. Will automatically switch.
Apple Watch Series 3 vs. Series 2. New Watch strap band as well (felt nice).
Jony in demo area (seems more interested in the building).
Believe Jony is wearing Marc Newson glasses (sure looks like them).
Slight learning curve with iPhone X interface but not as complicated/tough as it may seem.
Apple needs to modify its demo area for the video era. Separate those who want to livestream/video from non-video people.
I noticed Apple having more demos floating around for YouTubers and the really large cameras. So changes are occurring.
Steve Jobs Theater (with less people). Remarkable structure.
And I conclude with another look at Jony Ive garage. A transcript of these tweets will be available as long as Twitter exists.
