My attention has been drawn to reports that Obasanjo and Buhari are having an El Classico clash.

That is no El Classico.

It is more like Barcelona v Mamelodi Sundowns

Much as I have reservations about OBJ and his power sector spendings,

But relative to Buhari, he is like BARCELONA.

At least, we know OBJ started NIPP and EPSRA 2005 which GEJ aggressively executed.

Buhari has no Plan nor Reform initiative.

I have some issues with OBJs tenure

But at least we can concede that EFCC Act, ICPC, Power reforms Act, Pencom Act, NCC etc all came as Executive bills

GEJ did Sovereign Wealth Act

Buhari has failed to propose any reasonable bill for institutional reforms in any key sector

Buhari is like Sanogo

He is a massive flop after so much hype.

He has no institutional reform initiatives

The only institutional reforms in this govt were initiated and passed by Senate i.e PIG Bill, Not Too Young to Run, New CAMA, NFIU Act Etc

Buhari promised to reform the petroleum sector

He assumed office and didn't say anything about pending PIB- An executive bill done by OBJ, Yar'Adua and GEJ

The Saraki led Senate had to take the initiative to formulate a NEW Petroleum Industry Governance Bill by themselves.

So unlike his predecessors, Buhari has failed to propose any Bill to address institutional challenges and corruption in oil sector

Both the PIG Bill and upcoming Fiscal and Host community bills were wholly done by the Saraki led Senate

It's even a problem to get Buhari to sign

Since 2015,

Buhari has been going about Shouting "Kwarraption" without strengthening anti graft institutions.

Egmont group suspended us from global FIU which aids tracking of Money laundering transactions

Senate had to come up with NFIA Act to save Nigeria from expulsion.

OBJ placed Nigeria in Egmont's 155 FIUs who share financial intelligence to tackle graft

Under Buhari, they suspended Nigeria for breach of information and threatened expulsion unless we make our FIU autonomous

Senate enacted NFIA to make it autonomous yet Buhari hasn't signed

If Egmont group goes ahead to expel Nigeria due to Buhari's inability to sign NFIA already enacted by Senate.

Nigeria wont be able to track and tackle money laundering transactions effectively

And Buhari will still claim, "I'm fighting Kwarraption and looting of past Govts"

Finally,

The only Reform proposal that Buhari has institutionalized is "National BLAME Act"

It's an imaginary bill that seeks to blame everybody else but himself for the failure of his govt. EOD!
