Former #ANDSF. We were not defeated on the battlefields, but betrayed by corrupt and coward corps commanders.

There is an unofficial ban on resistance related news by the #Taliban regime. We also have a self-imposed ban in regards to social media. We lost three sub commanders due to SM. We are trying to figure out if their location was compromised through pictures they posted on SM. Notice has been sent to all the commanders not to publish pictures. Pakistani intelligence officers are attached to some Taliban units. Specifically Badri and an unidentified unit based around Salang pass. We made contact with this unit in Andarab over the last 15 day's.

#Facebook - Not many people use Twitter in Afghanistan. Afghans are mainly on Facebook. For 5 year's or so I run a Facebook page under the name "Tales of the Battlefields". I mainly posted pictures of different province's, told stories of our encounters with Taliban. I had 100 friends or so. They were loyal friends, but unfortunately I never met them in person. We mainly talked about the social issues we were facing in Afghanistan and ways to resolve this never ending war. I posted pictures of our beautiful country but, never my own.

Commander #SohrabAzimi - RIP
A man born in the 1990s, it would take him approximately 30-40 years after formal education and rising through the ranks in his chosen profession to really make an positive contribution to his country. Image Had we had another 5 years we would have finally changed the misfortunes of our country. We would have reformed the army and set #Afghanistan on a permanent path to peace and prosperity. Something that our fathers failed before us. Unfortunately, we have joined that list.

The mother of Talib is just like our mother. Mother's are all the same throughout the world. The bond a Talib has with his mother is similar to the bond we have with our mothers. Their women is similar to our women in general. Taliban do not become misogynistic men in their mother's arms. He goes through a complex process and brainwashing that turns him into an extremist. This happens when he leaves home and joins the local Taliban franchise. That's when he develops the prejudice against women.

#CheGuevara was killed in Bolivia some 54 years ago today. #AhmadShahMassoud and Che were both formidable guerilla commanders. They had so much in common and yet so different in ideology. They both fought for what they believed was right and a just cause for their people. They were from different backgrounds and cultures. One was fighting for communism, whilst the other against communism. Che was jaguar of the jungle whilst Massoud was the snow leopard of the mountains. Both were charasmatic and deeply respected for their abilities on the field

#LastStand - According to our calculations, #Panjshir would have fallen in the beginning of October had we made a last stand. Our ammunitions and fuel supplies would have lasted until around this time. I am glad the commanders who were in favour of a last stand were pushed aside The reason why the resistance is still active is because of the withdrawal. There would have been no ambushes and no resistance had we made a stand. This allowed the leadership to move to other provinces to ignite the flames of resistance.

#TheAlternative - Taliban are made of several extremists groups. They are like a supermarket of extremism. If you are an extremist, you don't need to create your own special group. You can easily find a group within the Taliban franchise. From school bombing groups to lesser evil There was no such group as ISIS-K in Afghanistan until this September. If you are an extremist who share the values of ISIS, you could easily find yourself a group within the Taliban to join.
The people who financed the Taliban are the same people who are financing ISIS-K now.

#MansouriBattalion is the suicide battalion of Taliban. Their creation is not new. They have been operating for the last 12 years or more. They were recruited to target high value targets (HVT). They were responsible for most of green on blue attacks targeting NATO personal. They are deployed at #Tajikistan border. In the event of a war, they will be heading for Tajik cities, not blowing up themselves Infront of border guards.
These guys are fanatics. There is a brainwashed human then there is a rebooted human. These guys are programmed for one task

#Dislaaf - The first transaction of the day between a shopkeeper and a customer is called Dislaaf. The shopkeeper will usually give you a discount and upon taking the money he will say "Bismillah" (In the name of God). This is meant to bring you good fortune.
#Afghanistan A few days back I went to a shop to buy something. This was late in the evening. As I paid the shopkeeper, I heard him say the word "Bismillah. I knew this was his Dislaaf. A shopkeeper should make his Dislaaf within an hour of opening his shop, not so late in the evening.

#Ambush - My friends, a military ambush is when you come out from behind the rocks and surprise your enemy. It's no different to when you hide behind a tree trunk or a wall to scare your friends. Your friend might slap you for making him jump, but on the field it's more deadly! In an ambush you hold all the cards. You can choose the location suitable for the ambush, you can choose your target and even the time. Sometimes our friends show up late to their appointment, but that doesn't bother us. As long as they show up, we are happy!

#Peace & #Oppression -
I traveled through a few provinces in the north. We do have peace! You can not deny this. There is no more firing, there is no more bombing, people are no longer nervous about going outside. No kidnapping and you don't have to bribe the officials anymore. This peace was not achieved through a handshake on a table and there was no celebrations on the streets. This is an uneasy peace imposed on our people through oppression. We only achieved this peace when our oppressors stopped firing. Unfortunately, this is a unsustainable peace.

#Talibans amnesty - Taliban amnesty applies to all the individual who worked for the Republic of Afghanistan. Unofficially it only applies to former members of the army, police, civil servants, journalist and the judiciary. It doesn't apply to Air Force, NDS and special units. Taliban are actively seeking for former members of NDS and special units with the help of ISI. They have our biometrics. They know exactly who is who, but struggling to locate them. They are fully aware that these people form the foundations of the resistance & will cause trouble

#Afghanistan & Opium- We supply 80% of world's opium. It makes up 15% of our economy. The Afghan mafia makes the Mexican cartel look like a bunch of nursery children. They are brutal & deadly. I was part of a unit trained by the British to deal with them & intelligence gathering Image Opium trade is a lucrative business. The farmers see no other alternative but to grow opium as they can make huge sums of money very quickly compared to growing potatoes or some other silly fruits. #Taliban and the Mafia have a working relationship. #Taliban & Women -
Majority of Taliban fighters are single and spent a lot of time in religious boarding schools called madrassas. They had limited interaction with women through their teenage & early adult life. The society in the south of the country is very conservative. They never felt the warmth hugs of their mothers or grandmother's. They never were involved in silly fight's with their sister like all boys have at some point with their siblings. This is why they act the way they do. Women comes across like an alien creature to them.

#TheBattleOfPanjshir How desperate a group of men have to be to search the war museum for working fighting machines. We opened the old containers meant to serve as a make shift museums to our past glorious, looking for anything to wake up so it could fire gain just one more time. #Panjshir was the safest province of Afghanistan hence the Afghan army didn't have any substantial presence. The men of Panjshir were busy fighting in the four corners of our land. We were like an old rusty boxer called from retirement to face the new enemy at the gates.
