NEW: The race between Lauren Boebert-Adam Frisch appears to be heading toward a recount.

Final vote counting today shrunk Boebert’s lead over Frisch to fewer than a thousand votes, pushing it under the threshold for an automatic recount.
buff.ly/3UOPOe3 As of 5 p.m., only a handful of relatively rural counties still hadn’t reported their updated results.

It's unlikely that those areas, which have voter bases in just the hundreds or thousands, could widen the race enough to take it out of recount range.

NEW: Colorado's hospitals are so full and short-staffed, some health care providers may need to start working in roles they aren’t certified for.

Where things stand the morning after #ElectionDay:

🗳 Prop 119 (increase pot taxes for private, out-of-school learning opportunities): Appears to fail.

Supporters of 119 on Tuesday night conceded defeat. 🗳 Prop 120 (property tax cut): Appears to fail.

By 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, 120 had the support of only about 43 percent of voters, and backers conceded it looked likely to fail.

That figure has stayed steady through the latest counts early Wednesday morning.

That's going to be about it here for us this Election Day.

But first, a quick recap. Colorado had three statewide ballot measures this year.

As of right now, it appears that voters have voted down all of them.

Good morning. It's Election Day in Colorado!

A quick 🧵 about today #Election2021: First: It's an off-year election. That means no marquee races and only a limited number of statewide ballot measures (in this case, three).

But locally (certainly in Denver), there's plenty of issues for you to weigh in on.

1/ More than 500 teachers, staff, students and parents from across the state have shared w/us their thoughts on schools reopening during #covid19colorado. It's a complicated conversation.

As the school year approaches, we'll keep adding to this thread. Here's what you've told us 2/

"I think Mesa County D51 is making a huge mistake. I'm a teacher there & have 3 kids in 3 schools. We'll be doing online for them bc our rate has been climbing and I don't feel they have an actual plan in place. There's nothing at all in their plan concerning SPED kids."
