We are listening in on the @CorpCommAZ public comment session on the @apsFYI proposed rate hikes. We will be live-tweeting stories and comments shared to remind the ACC it's time for #APSForgetTheDebt & to say NO on a hike of any kind that will further burden our communities.
First caller is @Dulce4Justice: I am calling because I feel it is an extreme injustice for our community for @apsFYI to be asking for an increase while we live in a global pandemic & the hottest year we have ever had. I ask the commission to Vote NO. #APSForgetTheDebt

.@Dulce4Justice tells @CorpCommAZ: This is outrageous, how could @apsFYI be asking to raise their rates? It’s an injustice to people all across the states. Don’t give an increase to APS, but also forget the debt! #APSForgetTheDebt
"This is the hottest summer in AZ and people have to stay indoors. This is the time for debt relief for families. Last year there were millions worth of debt. We’re asking for a 20-30 million this year. " - @Dulce4Justice#APSForgetTheDebt

The #GreatAmericanOutdoorsAct has passed the House! This bill will FULLY fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which protects public lands, local parks, and open spaces that are critical for our community’s health, wellbeing, and the conservation of our heritage. 1/4
For years, our public lands have been underfunded. This bill allows for opportunities of investment in communities of color that have historically lacked access to open and public spaces. 2/4
We are SO proud of Chispa AZ promotora Crystal Vega, at 14 years old she gave testimony today at @EPA's hearing on the proposal to not strengthen Particulate Matter National Ambient Air Quality Standards (PM NAAQS).
Here's part of her powerful testimony: "I’m from Phoenix, AZ where there are millions of people living in low-income communities that are impacted by unhealthy levels of pollution, just like mine. In my neighborhood alone, there are more concrete pathways than there are parks.
Chispa AZ conducted a poll on how important public lands are to Arizona. 94% think parks and public lands are essential to our quality of life. Poll here: bit.ly/ChispaPollLWCF#FundLWCF 1/4
Across political lines, 87% want permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (funded by offshore oil and gas drilling). 2/4

@SenatorSinema and @SenMcSallyAZ voted with polluters when they voted NO on a resolution to stop Trump’s “Dirty Power Scam”. 1/5
What’s the Dirty Power Scam? Trump’s Dirty Power Scam would put no meaningful limits on carbon pollution, which is exacerbating climate change and could lead to more pollution in many parts of the country. 2/5
#DonBrandt: You spend tens of millions to reach everyone in #AZ when it comes to opposing #solar. Yet when it comes to educating customers on rate plans, your efforts fall short. Why can’t you bring the same energy to customer service as you do to opposing #renewableenergy? 2/5

”Hundreds of thousands of votes are still being counted and every Arizonan deserves to have his or her voice heard, but whatever happens, the long-term impact of our work is clear.”
Message from Chispa AZ PAC on our #CleanACC campaign:
“In recent weeks we’ve seen current commissioners frantically trying to distance themselves from their connections to the utility giant APS, when just a few short months ago they were cozying up to them.” #CleanACC
