Union Health Ministry reviewed the current #COVID19 situation and public health preparedness with States and UTs in light of the recent rise in cases.

Technical review meetings were held on 2nd and 3rd June under the chairpersonship of Dr. Sunita Sharma, Director General of Health Services (DGHS), with participation from the Disaster Management Cell, EMR Cell, NCDC, ICMR, IDSP, Central Government Hospitals in Delhi, and representatives from all States and UTs to assess ongoing measures and readiness.

#COVID19 Situation:
As of 4th June 2025, India reports 4,302 active cases, with an increase of 864 cases in the past 24 hours.
Most cases are mild and managed under home care.
Since 1st January 2025, 44 deaths have been reported, primarily among individuals with pre-existing illnesses.

Akashteer: The “New Age” Air Defence Ecosystem

How could India hit 13 targets, including 8 air base,s so precisely inside various strategic locations in Pakistan? How did Pakistan fail so miserably? These questions have rattled the experts across the world. On the intervening night of 9th & 10th May, when Pakistan unleashed its deadliest attack against Indian military & civilian areas with missiles and drones, they were challenged by the impenetrable, the iron dome, the Indian wall of Self Defence – Akashteer.

Akashteer is probably the first operational AI war-cloud built entirely without any foreign components or satellite dependencies. Compared to Akashteer, Pakistan’s air defence response consisted of HQ- 9 & HQ-16 proved to be a failure to detect our projectiles & intercept them timely manner, resulting in heavy losses. ‘Akashteer’, the fully AI-powered autonomous defence system successfully did the real-time target interception and indulged in drone warfare.
