Communities are what make towns, cities and boroughs. Protecting communities is a duty and recognising their realities is the first step in doing so.

@2wheelsgoodBrum Then the premise was wrong to start with.
Where this is concerned, YOU may as well live in Timbuktu as you're not affected.

Residents living just outside of LTNs Are affected and the outcomes of the review show why they should've been engaged so to get a better picture. Image @2wheelsgoodBrum Your approach is indicative of everything that's wrong with LTNs and hw idealist zealots went about imposing them without wide public support.
It is yet another case of a vocal minority doing everything in their power to discredit/devalue all impacted persons, to deny their say.

6,000 Gazans will still die from the affects of malnutrition due to manufactured famine imposed on Gaza, even if a ceasefire was declared 2mrw.

58,000 more will die if a Ceasefire is not imposed.

Welcome back to the Al-Naser... what's left of it.

Remember we went from
"Israel wouldn't bomb a hospital and kill 500 people"
to Israel has bombed between 30-40 hospitals and has killed some 32,000 people
(another 58,000 likely to die of starvation).instagram.com/reel/C4uWYK9t7…

@LutfurRahmanTH The JR was brought by the (now proven) vocal minority.
The most privileged and affluent in our borough who talked down to us for 2 yrs until we shut them up with a thumping election result. But they couldn't stand it and had a whip round for a JR to delay the inevitable... @LutfurRahmanTH Why didn't the residents campaign (against Labour’s imposition of LTNs) do a JR?
The ballot box is our court.
The emphatic democratic mandate was the unmistakable verdict.
The majority of TH residents are hampered by lack of access to financial means and ability to go to court.

1/3 It's no secret that I think @TH_Labour got it massively wrong with their so-called liveable streets.
I'm glad candidates answered these questions..some answers were bland, some deluded while others were more candid... 2/3
@RabinaKhan & @Andrewwood17 raised some important points.
@MayorJohnBiggs is tryin to hv his cake n eat it too.
The greens demonstrated hw out of touch they are.
@elliottwvr was the most candid and I commend him too, for pointing out some hard truths for the cycle lobby..

#TowerHamlets #LabourParty promised 2,000 NEW homes.
In 7 yrs, they managed only 10%. Meanwhile #Labour allowed for public land (inc. greenspace) to be gobbled up by private developers building thousands of overpriced shoeboxes.
Look also to what they did to @TrevesAndLister. At least 20 Labour cllrs have had shocking performance indicators in terms of their public engagement, number of members inquiries they've initiated, value of return on investment when "Special Responsibility" xpenses are considered + the number of committees/ boards they sit on.

ALSO Tower Hamlets council and the Met refused to do a serious case review/ investigation in to the extremist grooming of the 3 girls from Bethnal Green who were able to run off to Syria, to become ISIS brides, completely undetected.
Those influences are still at large today. 2/ Tower Hamlets Council failed to spot ‘degrading’ child sex abuse, inquiry finds*

The borough was one of the six areas looked at in the report into child sexual exploitation by organised networks, which was the inquiry’s 18th report on its work looking at the issue.

#LestWeForget #RemembranceSunday
When our ancestors returned from war they said "Lest we Forget & Never Again".
Never had humanity and life been more linked.
Never was victory more important.
May we live up to their vow: Peace on earth.

No greater sacrifice #WeWillRememberThem #LestWeForget the contributions of the #Commonwealth.
Victory would not have been possible without the Men & Women who volunteered and came to fight for King Emperor & the Mother Country.

Proud that among them, in WW1 (1.5Million)
& in WW2 (2.5Million) Asians came to 🇬🇧's aid.

Well done to Bethnal Green residents. Quite right!
Thanks also to Whitechapel residents, who have clearly inspired neighbours in Bethnal Green.

Rebellion has been made inevitable.

So @TH_Labour thought you'd betray locals eh?
Seems they have a little something for you 😚 Lol some of my neighbours have seen this- I'm getting sent GIFs like this on whatsapp

(1) I think "#LTNs" have become toxic.
I think all the nicely worded language:
"#ModalFilters" "#Liveablestreets" "#ActiveStreets" "#PeopleFriendlyStreets" have all become toxic..
They've all been made toxic by the zealot people who tried to impose THEIR unrealistic idealism. (2) There are necessary surface changes that locals can identify very easily & many have been ignored by the council for years.

Open letter released just 48hrs ago has already been signed by 500 ppl demandin their ward cllrs resign the Labour whip.

We all knw that @UKLabour has completely sh*t the bed all over the country, across LDN (and most noticeably for me, in Tower Hamlets). eastendenquirer.org/2021/02/whitec…

The statement has been careful to limit the criticism but let's be clear:
There's a history of tropes & racism within @UKLabour.. a history of tokenising communities for the benefit of local Labour parties & minimalising / trivialising their lived xperiences to shut dwn criticism Take the recent @TowerHamletsNow council meeting where @TH_Labour cllrs voted against the Macpherson principle to whitewash a complaint of discrimination made by 2,000+ locals.
Take @UKLabour taking no disciplinary action against Jon Burke, allowing him to move on & abuse again.

Planters have been placed around #bricklane as #modalfilters. @TowerHamletsNow claims that local shops asked for it. But having asked around- the response is the same: "we didn't ask for it. First we heard about it was a leaflet last week, informing of this plan". #StreetspaceLDN This no consult plan is to last till November to allow for "social distancing" and al fresco dining... UNTIL NOVEMBER?!

Residential side streets have become drop off and U-turn points.
Traffic will have make its way around already congested Commercial St. & Whitechapel High St.
