THREAD: I’ve spent a lot of time in the pro-democracy space over these last few years and have a few thoughts as we are quickly approaching the #midterms.

1️⃣ Trumpism isn’t going away. Try as we might to wish it away, it’s here for now & has spilled all the way down the ballot. 2️⃣ Candidates like #MTG have grabbed the coattails Trump’s supposed “conservatism” and ridden them all the way to the top.

3️⃣ Members of this movement claim to value conservative principles but their actions/lives reflect nothing of the sort.

LONG THREAD For my @projectlincoln friends & other interested parties my #coronavirus story continues-a story that has become both hysterically funny&incredibly hard. Don’t tell me not to “politicize” things – this is real life. For many reasons we have to get Mom & Dad home.../1 85 & 83 yrs old, #parkinsonsdisease #dementia & other conditions. Mom too weak 2 walk. No clear guidelines on how 2 keep them safe. Rented an #RV for a 1200 mi drive hoping to control their exposure. Tried 2 prepare the #RV for all potential needs. 2/

1/ THREAD. My #Coronavirus story. I spend several months every winter caring for my elderly parents while they snowbird in #FL. Mom is 83, in frail health, and has dementia. Yesterday she developed all the symptoms of a bad respiratory infection... @ProjectLincoln 2/ I spent about 6 hours on the phone 2day trying to track down medical care for her. PCP won’t let her come to the office bc her symptoms are consistent with #Covid19, tells me to call the hospital hotline. I talk to them twice, after an hour-long hold each time.
