Amnesty International in a series of tweets announced their support to the people of #Afghanistan, especially those affected by the earthquake in #Khost and #Paktika provinces. (1/4) The organization added that the Taliban de facto authorities in Afghanistan must attend to the immediate and essential needs of the affected communities and guarantee that humanitarian agencies must have access to the affected regions.

The UK does not support anyone, including Afghan nationals, seeking to achieve political change through violence, (1/4) or any activity inciting violence for political purposes, in 🇦🇫, and will not allow UK soil to be used to plan or prepare it, and we strongly discourage others from doing so. Following the escape of former president of #Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani and reports of him taking millions of $ with himself, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (#SIGAR), stated that Ghani left the country with less than $1 million. (1/6) The report says that “evidence indicates that this number did not exceed $1 million and may have been closer in value to $500,000”, of which most of the money, is believed to be government operating budgets managed at the palace. Taliban FM Amir Khan Mottaqi in the #Antalya Diplomatic Assembly says that the #Taliban is committed to reform and has made progress in this regard. (1/5) Mottaqi says that the foreign government should not be imposed on Afghans and the world should allow Afghans to form their own government. He added that the Taliban are continuing their efforts for inclusive governance. (2/5)

The #Taliban Deputy PM Abdul Salam Hanafi speaking in a press conference said that People should use Afghan currency in their daily transactions and smuggling dollars abroad is a crime. He also said that #Uzbekistan wants to fund the Afghan section of the #TAPI project. He added the economic situation will improve and foreign countries are interested in investing in Afghanistan.
