Racism has many forms, but what they hold in common is biases & beliefs, conscious & unconscious that a race or ethnic group should be held to different values/standards and treated differently. This is what unified anti-black racism, anti-semitism, islamophobia, etc. 2/n
A thread on George Galloway, #georgegalloway his comments about #Spurs and #Israel, and his sacking by @talkRADIO. What surprised me, but l shouldn’t have, are those who feel that he was somehow a victim of those who seek to shutdown free-speech.1/
This is so wide of the mark it’s untrue.
People know that Spurs fans have been the victims of racist abuse for years. Spurs have always had a ‘relatively’ large Jewish following, and other clubs started to use the racial slur as far back as the 60s & 70s to insult Spurs fans2/

Can a Jew be antisemitic? History provides many cases of Jews being antisemitic. Individuals who seek to curry favour with a social/ political group they are attached to. Often they become more AS than the group, as a way of proving their credentials. 1/6 #LabourAntiSemitism
Whilst self-hatred is a phenomena which affects many people, it has always been present around the margins of Judiasm. In many respects they are more dangerous than antisemitic non-Jews because they provide a tacit respectability by giving ‘Jew-hate’ a faux legitimacy. 2/6
