The tabbacco industry made billions in profits from destroying peoples health

Have shifted their profits to these products

Funding & promoting false information that these products are not harmful

At the same time, heavily promoting vapes to children

Getting them addicted to nicotine

1/ #Vapes As a result, vape use amongst young people has tripled in the past 3 years

And we know that if you use a vape as a young person, you are 3X more likely to use cigarettes later on in life

Using a vape as a child can affect brain development. And the full extent of long term harms are not yet known

I was cycling today on 20mph road

Got beeped by the car behind

The car then overtook me, shouting out the window not to cycle in the ‘middle of the road’

The car was a police van

I chased the police van down and made them stop.

There were 3 policemen in the van

1/
I asked them to tell me what I was doing wrong

(I was doing nothing wrong) and why they had beeped at me

After a 5 min argument on the street, they asked me for ID and wrote down my details

I’m still fuming

Firstly, I am FED UP of drivers being aggressive towards cyclists

#NHSwhitepaper Thread:

Contrary to some of the headlines, the reforms are NOT the
‘end of privatisation’

(Will explain below)

The white paper wants to reverse legislation that mandated competitive tendering, which meant every contract had to be put out ‘to the market’....

1/
Which was a nuisance
Created unnecessary beurocracy And wasted a lot of money

This legislation was brought in under Cameron’s coalition government

(Against the advice of the unions, health think tanks, royal colleges...basically everyone)

Just found out one of our colleagues from my hospital has died

He leaves behind a heartbroken family and a devastated department

I cannot articulate my feelings towards the pathetic Lawrence Fox

I will not RT his photo, as this only gives him the attention he begs for

1/
He will not suffer the consequences of his pathetic attention-seeking acts

But it will be someone else

Less fortunate & privileged

For no fault of their own, who will loose their life

I really hope media people remember this before they consider booking “Mr controversial”

The virus has exposed not only gross incompetence, but cronyism & corruption at the heart of government

With contracts for chums and billions of tax-payers money siphoned off to the private sector

And unnecessary lives lost

Thread ⬇️

1/ #Dispatches #bbcnews #r4today Testing and trace is a vital component of infectious disease control

Against the advice of public health experts, the government outsourced both elements of the process to favourable private companies, with no expertise

Resulting in a dog’s breakfast of incompetence

We’ve made a video 🎬

No spin lines
No empty slogans

Just the FACTS

From #nhs workers of what we’ve seen happen to #ourNHS over the past few years

The #ToriesTrackRecord speaks for itself

Please share
#FactsNotSpin #NHScrisis

Thread ⬇️ 1️⃣ FUNDING

These promises of “extra spending” we hear every year never materialise

The reality: An NHS underfunded by by 30% since 2010

That’s 30 BILLION / year short

The recent ‘cash injection’ promised by the Tories, is STILL under what the 4% needed to stop further decline
