Fred Whitehurst remains a #whistleblower hero. @KKCWhistleblow is honored to have represented Dr. Whitehurst since he walked into our office almost 30 years ago.

If you read Fred’s story in his own words you will begin to understand why.

thelamplighterproject.org/post/looking-b… “I blew the whistle on the fbi for 7 years, an effort which has freed many innocent individuals from prison who were convicted based upon false and misleading testimony from fbi laboratory agents…”
- Frederic Whitehurst, FBI #whistleblower … continued

Do you remember when you joined Twitter? I do! #MyTwitterAnniversary I joined @Twitter on January 17, 2009 to track the progress of and to amplify support of #Whistleblower reforms that were proposed in the Obama administration. There’s been many ups and downs.

“SEC handily won its civil enforcement action…in 2014,” and collected $54 million.

But SEC denied an award to the #whistleblower (represented by ⁦@KKCWhistleblow)⁩ who discovered the fraud & helped the SEC win its case.

-⁦@iimaginstitutionalinvestor.com/article/b1t04q… This is the story of @KKCWhistleblow #Whistleblower client “Gene Ross, father of three, who, in the process of voluntarily cooperating with government prosecutors and regulatory agencies in the criminal and civil actions against Amerindo, lost his job at Bear Stearns…” - @iimag

#Whistleblower #RealityWinner Tests Positive for #COVID19 🦠 in Federal Prison in Texas. This didn’t need to happen. She already has served the harshest sentence for leaking one document after pleading guilty. at.law.com/6BqCk5?cmp=sha… via @DailyReport Regardless of what you may think of #RealityWinner leaking a classified document she admitted guilt and took responsibility for her actions. That’s more than Manafort or Stone could do.

And, yes, history will consider her a #Whistleblower even though she violated the law.

“Whistleblowers are not traitors,” @dcolapinto. “It is the job of the president to protect whistleblowers, not incite violence against them.”

Did this happen because @realDonaldTrump created a climate of hate against the #Whistleblower?

washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/02… The death threats against the #whistleblower & his attorney didn’t happen in a vacuum. Let’s review what else was happening just prior to November 7, 2019 - the day the threat was allegedly made.

The below tweet is pro-Trump political spin, but not supported by law or facts.

DOJ did not analyze 50 USC §3234, the applicable #Whistleblower protection statute for intelligence community employees, which Trump is required to enforce.

Read the law and try again. It’s absurd for anyone to argue that a federal employee who reports wrongdoing to an Inspector General is not protected by the #Whistleblower statute. Read 50 USC §3234.

Before Trump started his tweet storm against the #whistleblower, 3 federal appeals court judges considered the constitutionality of the obstruction of justice law designed to protect #whistleblowers & witnesses. They upheld the criminal conviction.
thehill.com/blogs/congress… Our opinion column was published on Dec. 17, but it’s even more timely now following President Trump’s recent use of twitter to retweet posts by his campaign & supporters that attempt to “out” & harass the #Whistleblower.

Several statutes and regulations form the framework of legal protections for intelligence community #whistleblowers, not just one law.

We published some FAQs @KKCWhistleblow about these #Whistleblower rights.

Read the FAQs: bit.ly/2CI60r6

Also read the THREAD It is the President’s duty under the intelligence community #whistleblower statute, 50 U.S.C. §3234(d), to ensure enforcement of intelligence community whistleblower protections.

With all of the attacks on the Intelligence Community #whistleblower whose Complaint was publicly released to Congress, it’s time to review some basic principles of federal #Whistleblower protection law. In 2012, Congress strengthened the #Whistleblower protections for federal employees. In 2013, President Obama extended similar protections for intelligence community employees through a presidential directive & in 2014 Congress codified those protections for Intel employees.
