Do you remember when you joined Twitter? I do! #MyTwitterAnniversary I joined @Twitter on January 17, 2009 to track the progress of and to amplify support of #Whistleblower reforms that were proposed in the Obama administration. There’s been many ups and downs.

“SEC handily won its civil enforcement action…in 2014,” and collected $54 million.

But SEC denied an award to the #whistleblower (represented by ⁦@KKCWhistleblow)⁩ who discovered the fraud & helped the SEC win its case.

It’s absurd for anyone to argue that a federal employee who reports wrongdoing to an Inspector General is not protected by the #Whistleblower statute. Read 50 USC §3234.

Before Trump started his tweet storm against the #whistleblower, 3 federal appeals court judges considered the constitutionality of the obstruction of justice law designed to protect #whistleblowers & witnesses. They upheld the criminal conviction.

With all of the attacks on the Intelligence Community #whistleblower whose Complaint was publicly released to Congress, it’s time to review some basic principles of federal #Whistleblower protection law. In 2012, Congress strengthened the #Whistleblower protections for federal employees. In 2013, President Obama extended similar protections for intelligence community employees through a presidential directive & in 2014 Congress codified those protections for Intel employees.
