(Thread) Today, Avaaz released an official poll conducted in Israel showing 57% of Israelis support a plan where Hamas will release the children and families it holds hostage, in exchange for the Israeli government releasing Palestinian children held in Israeli jails, and creating safe zones and humanitarian access across Gaza managed by the UN.

Language is important: Israelis may have been under the illusion that they were protesting for “democracy”, but they were in fact protesting for “liberal ethnocracy”. (Thread). How so? Over 6 million Palestinians are tried by military judges, who apply military laws, imposed by Israeli military generals.

Palestinians have zero say in any part of the process. Children are regularly abused.

Israeli society supports this with almost zero dissent.

Not only does the platform censor Palestinian voices, it’s profiting from the sale of Israeli settlements built on stolen land, by allowing them to be marketed & sold on the platform. The international consensus is settlements are international crimes. 1/3 Adding insult to injury, I was targeted with these ads (likely bc I’ve been monitoring Israeli gov disinformation efforts on the platform).

Two settlements are built on land forcefully stolen from my grandparents.

Dangerous suppression: Yesterday unknown actors engaged in a disinformation campaign targeting youth activist Tareq Khudeiri, leading to death threats against him.

Then the Palestinian Authority Security Forces arrested him — and now he is a political prisoner.(1/5) The video was initially shared by a suspicious account of someone who claims they are an Israeli researcher; but spreads propaganda.

It pushed divisive claims that Tareq had chanted curse words at former President Arafat. Clear evidence shows he did not. 2/5
