I updated my @tana_inc workspace with two new search nodes that are dramatically improving my workflows. If you're looking for a way to easily surface things you want to remember and tasks that are due on a given day, then you might find these tips to be helpful! 1/ I'm using two search nodes in @tana_inc:
🧶 Reminders &
🚨 Due Today

"Reminders" shows me things I want to remember on a given day, typically not a task, but something I want to look into on a that day. I'm using "Due Today" to remind me about tasks due on a given day. 2/

1/ Does anyone have experience with food sensitivity tests? I'm struggling with "mystery allergies" and I'm wondering if this might be diet related. 2/ I've had comprehensive allergy panels and learned I am "extremely" allergic to mold and dust mites. I'm now taking a medicine that *might* work after consistently taking them for 6+ months (I'm in m1). Apparently, I need to build it up in my system before experiencing relief.

A look at my @tana_inc daily page set up as of January 2, 2023. This thread explains why I set things up the way I did.

👋🏻And hey, Tana friends! 😀 I welcome feedback on how to do this in easier/better ways!

1/ One of my goals for 2023 is to "exclusively use Tana for note-taking and metric tracking for everything".

In the past, I've heavily used Notion (and dabbled with other apps), but this is the 1st time I'm committing to using ONE app for an entire year for a specific purpose. 2/

Now that all that LSAT work is complete (🥳), I'm switching my focus to working on my personal statements and narrowing down my school list (i.e. the institutions where I plan to apply). I'm continuing to use @tana_inc to do this. The top contenders continue to be these...1/ Image This morning I decided to review the top 20 ranked (by U.S. News) full time & part time law schools to see if there were any I could add to my list. I was fairly certain my list already had all the schools that meet my criteria (predominately remote / virtual-friendly), 2/

I use tabs in @tana_inc to easily create different contextual views. While reviewing law school deadlines today, I was inspired to find a photo of each of the schools to help me visualize each place. I think I've settled on applying to these 10 schools.
1/ Unlike when I first considered law school years ago, there are significantly more options available "online" now. Each school has a slightly different definition of what it means to be a "hybrid" or "online" program. I'm tracking modality & course formats in @tana_inc, too.

I've really enjoyed getting to know @tana_inc this week. It's quickly becoming a tool that I find myself looking forward to using each day & I've already found it helping me make connections that I wasn't making as quickly, previously. 1/ Image The community in Slack is super friendly and helpful. I've asked a few (very basic) questions, and people are very willing to share tips and ideas. A few people even responded with on-the-spot-created videos just for me! That's next-level thoughtfulness right there! 2/

Since this () seems to be resonating with people (thank you so much for the kind feedback! 😀), I'm working on a blog post that will describe how to set this up in detail.

I'll share the workflow graphics as I create them & then link to the full post. 1/ 1st is the Academic Articles workflow. This uses @devontech & @craftdocsapp & features one simple automation (in #DevonThink) to help me find articles later. I sometimes tag articles beyond this with topics, but I tend to use tags sparingly since DT's search is fantastic. 2/ Image

My current daily capture workflow uses @devontech's #DevonThink, @readwise Reader, @obsdmd, @clickup, & @craftdocsapp. It's working quite smoothly these days. I can find what I want when I want it, it's helping me get work done, and not getting in the way! Branch 1: Academic Articles to @devontech

Spending this Saturday morning doing a little @clickup organization for @fortelabs.

We're managing a lot of different projects right now with many related sub-tasks, but #ClickUp is making it easier for us to keep on top of things! 1/ One of the features that is really helping the Ops team in @clickup is that we use the same fields across lists. So in every list you'll find:

- Label
- Due Date
- Status
- Latest Comment
- Priority
- Assignee
- Approver
- Contributors
- Informed
- Created by
- Date Created

📣Dear Online Course Creators:
Take a moment to count how many assets you have in your course for students to download. There is such a thing as "course bloat". I just downloaded 243 assets (combination of Videos, Transcripts, audio files, & PDF eBooks) for a 4-wk course. 🤯 See? I'm not kidding. It...just...keeps...going....

Mapping out my #PKM workflows was supremely helpful for me to see which tools were working well together and which weren't.

Today I'm sharing how I'm using my PKM tools and my second brain on a typical (working) day.

(a 🧵thread) 1/ Image Each day I start by tracking some data in my @NotionHQ databases. First up is entering ACTIVITY data from my @ouraring from the previous day. 2/ Image

💡Idea: Use these 4 W's in your online course immediately to dramatically reduce repeated help desk questions, improve participation, and encourage course completion. (a thread) 1/ First, all of this needs to go on a page titled "START HERE". Capitals are important. Don't capitalize any other page titles. Why? Because it's attention-getting & students' eyes will be continually drawn to that 1 thing that's not like the others. Add your 4 W's here. 2/

Cohort-based course creators (CBCs) increase students' understanding of topics when they teach complete topics in a brief & easy-to-understand manner. This thread shares what I observed & learned from Session 2 of @cahouser & @julia_saxena's "Minimum Viable Video Course". 1/ If you missed my previous thread (), I'm reflecting on my CBC experiences to provide a "peek behind the curtain" for others interested in joining in the future and hopefully to inspire fellow course creators to level-up their teaching practices. 2/

I'm in the midst of a few online courses right now for fun (popularly known in the outside of academia world as "cohort-based courses" [CBCs]) & I'm going share what I'm learning in post-session tweet recaps. Here's why: 1/ Summarizing takeaways helps keep me accountable to review my notes, which helps me turn my ideas & reflections into actionable tasks & projects in #Notion, & provides you with a glimpse into what the course is like should you consider taking the course in the future. 2/

@russellbrunson shares in "Expert Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Converting Your Online Visitors into Lifelong Customers" that "when people purchase any product from anyone, they’re hoping to get a certain result in one of these three areas of their lives." 1/ The 3 areas @russellbrunson describes are (1) health, (2) wealth, & (3) relationships. I'm curious - in 2021 - are #highered institutions paying attention to this? Are entrepreneur-run cohort-based courses (CBCs) thinking about this? 2/

This post by @fortelabs is 100% why I never managed to really "get" Evernote as others in the #productivity space seemed to. Nested tag systems make my brain hurt too. Nomological networks on the other hand? 🙋‍♀️YES. 1/10 fortelabs.co/blog/tagging-i… If the concept of a "Nomological Net" is new to you, this is a decent primer: conjointly.com/kb/nomological…. As it was explained to me by my 2nd doctoral advisor, & how I've put the use of this concept into practice in my life, can be summed up by this statement: 2/10
