I watched the presser, and while Premier @jkenney didn't say it exactly like this, it was close enough, and I have a lot of thoughts. Buckle in. #ableg#abpoli#cdnpoli /1

Thread: Do you think that when journalists took up jobs in places like Seattle, Louisville, New York, DC ...etc. that they ever thought it would be like reporting from a militarized zone? #pressfreedom
The attack on media and journalism over the last four years has done so much damage to the work of journalists and the role of and independent and free media. So much so that people responsible for the safety of citizens are now comfortable harming them.

Every time instances of racism rears its heads these days, I find myself less and less stunned. I don't have a more coherent response to this instance of brownface by Justin Trudeau compared to what has already been said by many apt and intelligent POC colleagues already.
But it is no doubt hurtful. This feels like a shock because we perceive Trudeau to be progressive. But even for the most woke, progressive, small-L liberal person, there is no substitution for the experience of a POC, white privilege is a wall.
