If you've ever had the idea "homeschoolers are high achievers" or "homeschoolers outperform on tests" - you got that idea from Brian Ray. His ""research"" was bought and paid for by homeschooling activists, but he's also just ... not a good person:

My parents, like the Rays, also followed the teachings of Michael and Debi Pearls. Like Hallie, I bought into their abusive doctrine.
It took me years to finally strip off the distant, clinical terms I always used when recalling or speaking about the horrors of my childhood.

I found out yesterday my grandmother is a Trump supporter, and this latest revelation is forcing me to acknowledge something about many Trump supporters, generally speaking:
I've seen a lot of Trump supporters getting upset about people "cutting people off" because of "politics."

For them, there's nothing new happening.

I have so many *thoughts* about the primary but I'm going to stow most of them at least for now and focus on something I don't see people talking about much:

I watched the #ExposeChristianSchools tag yesterday and felt a lot of resonance ... but now I'd like to #ExposeChristianHomeschooling.
Standard disclaimer: #notallhomeschoolers, and I know a lot of people who homeschool well and I have a lot of respect for them. I do not want to ban homeschooling in the US.

Me today, watching the #gc2summit on #churchtoo:
Kicking this thing off by singing the lyrics of "Amazing Grace"- a song about the repentance of a middle passage slave trader- I think is going to be pretty emblematic for today.
God loves us even thought we're BAD is probs going to be a major theme. #churchtoo#gc2summit
