🧵This his how media controls narratives:

And now before I go back to simply posting my videos here, I’ll say this. Regardless of what you think of @walter_report , I agree with his stance on Mriya. I don’t trust them. And here is my PERSONAL experience that led to this conclusion months before I even knew who he was: I was invited to speak on Mriya on recommendation of a friend who regularly listened to the space. I offered to speak about @azov_media because it’s a topic I’m incredibly passionate about. Throughout my very short (because I was politely excused out) speech I was interrupted

Stop Platforming Russians who talk about Ukraine in English(even if it’s positive) — 🧵

I see big YouTube accounts like praising russian YouTubers who speak out against the war and calling them brave, interviewing them and increasing their platform. Here why it’s wrong: 1) a russian abroad, who was never planning on moving back to russia to begin with, speaking in English in safety is not brave, it’s called monetization on a “relevant” topic.

While everyone is outraged that @natashasrussia is likely a government mouthpiece working for Kremlin … I feel the need to say “I told you so”. Here are my videos on that from March:

Hey @netflix are you good? Yaroslav the Wise ruler of Northern Russia? Moscow didn’t exist yet at that time. russia wasn’t even a concept. RULER OF KYIV. That’s who Yaroslav was. Also just fyi … Yaroslav is NOT a russian name. No one calls their kids Yaroslav. Yet it’s a very common name in Ukraine … that didn’t bother ya?

So I’m watching #TheCrownNetflix season 5 and I find this lovely subtle piece of #RussianPropaganda :

A short 🧵
#TheCrown #TheCrown5 #TheCrownSeason5 1) Why is Ukraine still THE Ukraine? For historical accuracy of what it was referred to as back then? You don’t care much for accuracy when you invent private dialogue between the characters …

Since I’ve mentioned my hypothyroidism problems, I’ve had so many people reach out and say that their meds don’t do anything for their symptoms. If you have a thyroid issue, do you feel like your meds work? (Please comment your meds) The reason I’m asking is: my meds work perfectly, I just couldn’t get a refill for a week. And I find that most people are prescribed generic meds instead of compound. As in — they aren’t personalized. So I would like to share with you what I take.

I’m watching @GabbyGiffords Won’t Back Down. A couple of things I want to say: number 1 being — Gabby is fantastic. @CaptMarkKelly is an amazing man, I wish every state had a Gabby and a Mark representing them. Gabby’s recovery is not a miracle, it’s hard work by an incredible woman, who wasn’t going to give in to trauma. A miracle is something unexpected, something uncanny. Gabby is the opposite of that. She was a fighter and a bright light, is and will be. Nothing will brake her.

🧵I was curious to see more pro “private gun ownership” posts for Ukraine. Funny enough it’s mostly Americans who are very vocal about arming UA civilians and “enshrining” loose gun laws into our constitution. So as a Ukrainian who spent half my life there and half in the US: Very respectfully, Ukraine is not the United States and we don’t strive to carry and own guns. We strive to be in Europe and away from russia. EU, fortunately, requires very strict gun laws — so we will, luckily, not have to worry about that. But, I’ll entertain this conversation

Oh, this is “woke” ignorant Americans talking about white assimilated Americans. It’s very often followed by “White people have no culture”, again completely disregarding the fact that the world doesn’t end at white assimilated Americans. Americans live to see the world through the prism of the US.

You know what Russification is? It’s when a 10 year old child in Lviv, who speaks Russian fluently, feels superior to their Ukrainian-Speaking classmates, who don’t. Did their parents ingrain that in them? No. The media did. Russian shows did. Russian movies did. Literature did. Please tell me how I, a Ukrainian child, in a majority Ukrainian speaking city, who went to a Ukrainian school and lived with an incredibly patriotic dad, at the age of 10 thought that my fluency in Russian gives me a leg up over my friends? Russification.

To all the “it’s @ZelenskyyUa fault” people: with or without Zelenskyy (preferably with) — we will fight. If we have a leader that wants to make concessions, we will fight against that leader. Because that person doesn’t represent us. What do you still not understand? You call it “the Kyiv Regime”, as in a dictatorship. Zelensky didn’t force us to fight, he chose to fight with us, to our great surprise. WE ARE THE PEOPLE, of Ukrainian democracy and he speaks to our historical stance of combatting THE RUZZIAN GENOCIDAL REGIME. Not vice-versa

An #NYC moment, a 🧵:

1:30am I’m walking my dog and staring at my phone, reading some war updates. I feel my dog pull (note: it’s a Frenchie, so I fully expect her to be trying to eat a piece of pizza of the ground) and continue walking. She won’t move. So I turn around … And see this picture: middle of the sidewalk. The street light shines straight onto where all of this is happening. There is a rat. With a slit throat. trying to make noise. Trying to crawl. Both to no avail. Blood everywhere…

A Russian “pro Ukrainian liberal” accused us of protesting in 2014 for personal reasons. In response to a Ukrainian creator saying Russians don’t protest again the war but against mobilization. Fact. Let’s dissect: 1/? 1) we were protesting against RUSSIAN proxy government that wanted us to become a Russian submissive country;
2) we did not invade Georgia in 2008, so it’s not like we invaded and we didn’t do anything about it;
3) Viktor Yushchenko was 1 of 5 leaders to go to Georgia 2/?

You know why #Ukraine will win? We will win because our hearts beat for each other. We spend our last $ buying gear for a friend of a friend at the front. We make it our job to keep the world informed if we can’t physically be there to be the eyes of our military. We give our 1/? House away to accommodate orphaned children. We spend our spare time volunteering. We support each other. We greet our military in occupied cities with last bits of food we have left after months of being starved. We don’t give up. We don’t give in under threat of execution 2/?

She had 7 months to speak out from her villa abroad … she didn’t because she still had a Russian paycheck coming through. She is not brave. She is not in Russia. SHE IS IN A VILLA ABROAD. What she scared of? Oh and calling “Who is Alla Pugacheva” tweet low while saying that you understand that Ukrainians couldn’t care less what happens in Russia … is an oxymoron. Who is she to us? No one lol we are tired of hearing about rich Russians abroad dropping a line

Why #Russia is never going to win, a thread. The less obvious, in a fictional POV from 2 soldiers on the opposite side of the barricade.

The Russian: I’m in a trench under heavy artillery fire. One of the guys in my unit gets heavily wounded. I do what I can to treat him … With whatever little resources I have. There is nothing useful in my med kit. I try. He is declining. My unit is preparing to leave and I ask what I should do … my commander tells me to shoot him.

This. Over and over. I get wounded with shrapnel — I request to be sent …

My favorite passtime is reading messages from disgruntled trolls blocked on twitch, I'm going to share them with you now: I can say that you're wrong - why is Lukashenko bad, you still haven't explained. Why is the alternative good or valid or democracy. It's not. You live in a false reality created by the mass media you consume little girl. You are naive and stupid. I am cynical and smart. We are quite different you see. You have a lot to learn from me (rhyme wasn't intentional but it does rhyme quite nicely won't you agree? LOL )

What if I tell you that #Holocaust was not the most costly genocide the world has seen? What if I tell you that #Holodomor (1931-1932), a forced famine inflicted by Stalin onto Ukrainians has killed 8-15 MILLION PEOPLE. And the world stayed, and stays silent. What if I tell you that while most countries in the world honor those who have fallen in #Holocaust on a Remembrance Day… but the only country honoring #Holodomor with such a day — is #Ukraine.
