#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: a deal has been reached in order to end the #SudanCoup which has been going on for over a year now.

Both the #FFC and the military have agreed to a 24-month transition, under the leadership of a civilian PM, with elections at the end.

But there's a but πŸ‘‡
#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: just as with the previous transition deal there is very little that holds either #Burhan or #Hemedti to honor their promises, meaning the country is and remains very vulnerable to another #SudanCoup at any moment.

There is also no mention of any reform of the military
#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: the Resistance committees, which were the backbone of the December Revolution have already voiced their opposition to the deal since it doesn't include any framework to bring justice to the 110+ protesters who were killed since the #SudanCoup.

#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡© BREAKING: after 17 years of brutal war, famine, and genocide the Sudanese government and the #SRF rebels have signed a peace accord for the region of #Darfur.

Congratulations to the Sudanese people for achieving this massive step towards peace aje.io/nz66l
#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: although this agreement is a major step towards peace the war in #Darfur is not over yet. The smaller rebel splinter group SLA-AW is still in separate negotiations with the government and inter-communal violence remains one of the main causes of deaths
#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: another major step in the peace process. #SPLMN leader Abdalaziz Al-Hilu and PM @SudanPMHamdok have signed a joint declaration, agreeing on the principles of democracy, secularism and decentralization ImageImage

#Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡©: PM Hamdok and rebel leader al-Hilu being greeted by a massive crowd as they enter the #SPLMN capital #Kauda.

For decades the Nuba people of the south were hunted down and slaughtered by the Sudanese state, now they welcome its leader in their thousands
This was a great deal for #Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡© and in particular the people of the Nuba Mountains who have suffered so much.

After decades of war and death, peace seems within reach! ImageImageImageImage
