NDP MPP @john_vanthof: CBC reports email addresses linked to certain UCP domain names were fraudulently attached to UCP memberships and used to cast ballots in the party's leadership race. Among the domains: deanfrench.ca. Has Ford talked to Dean French about this?
Vanthof: Former UCP member has written the RCMP alleging the Kenney leadership campaign used fraudulent emails to intercept personal ID numbers needed to cast a ballot in the leadership race. Some of those addresses were linked to a site bearing the name of Ford's Chief of Staff.
Vanthof: This concerns the ethical standards Ford sets for himself and staff in his office. Has Ford instructed his Chief of Staff to turn all relevant information over to the RCMP officers who have been asked to investigate?
(Ford does not answer)
NDP MPP @TarasNatyshak: Ford flew to Alberta to campaign with Kenney - their relationship called "bromance." RCMP has now launched investigation into possible voter fraud. What assurances can Ford offer that no one in his office or party is implicated in these matters?
Natyshak: On CBC’s the National, even Kenney had to admit these new revelations were concerning. The RCMP is conducting an investigation and a website bearing the name of Ford's Chief of Staff is tied up in it.
Who controls the site and why is it linked to voter fraud in Alberta?
Natyshak: This is a chance for Ford to set an ethical standard for his office. If, following an investigation, police find that there was evidence of election fraud and that the Dean French, Ford's Chief of Staff was involved, what action will he take?
(Ford doesn't answer)
NDP #OntEd critic @maritstiles: The TDSB released what the govt's cuts to education will mean: over $28 million dollars less next year, requiring cuts. When will the minister realize every dollar taken out of our education system leaves our young people worse off? #onpoli
Stiles: The TDSB has already said they will be forced to lay off 800 high school teachers. Meaning fewer course offerings for students like arts and shop classes. Larger class sizes and less opportunity for our young people. #onted #onpoli
NDP Transit critic @JessicaBellTO: Yesterday, Ford drew lines on a map and pulled numbers out of a hat to try to explain how much his new transit plan would cost and when it would be delivered. Could Ford show us the evidence: planning studies? cost estimates?
#onpoli
(Ford doesn't answer. His Minister of Transportation calls it "historic" but offers no planning studies. No cost estimates.)
Bell: Toronto has already spent several years & millions Relief Line plans. Ford now wants to rip up all those plans & start over again. How can Ford defend starting over again from scratch, when we know that means delays, while people are stuck in overcrowded trains & stations?
(Ford does not defend starting over and leaving people stuck in overcrowded trains and stations. His Minister of Transportation doesn't defend ripping up plans either). #onpoli #topoli #ttc
Doug Ford wants to derail transit plans people have been waiting for, and start some of them again from scratch. Add your name to stop more delays and cancellations: ontariondp.ca/transit-takeov… #onpoli #topoli #ttc
NDP LGBTQ+ critic @kernaghant: Yesterday, the minister of #OntEd deliberately refused to name homophobia & transphobia. How can LGBTQ+ students count on this minister to combat homophobia and bullying in our schools when she won’t even acknowledge its existence in this Chamber?
Kernaghan: Instead of condemning discrimination, the minister said that she embraces “healthy relationships.” Meanwhile, she has delayed teaching important issues like gender expression until Gr. 8. LGBTQ+ students deserve the same access to info as their heterosexual peers.
NDP Labour critic @jamiewestndp : I'd like to give the Minister of Labour another chance to distance herself from Ford's characterization of democratically elected union leaders as “thugs." Does she agree with him, or will she distance herself from his comments? #onlab
(Ford's Minister of Labour does not take the opportunity to distance herself from Ford's comments). #onlab
West: Ontarians need to have faith in the principle of good faith.
Will the Minister of Labour clearly state that the Premier’s "thug" comments were unacceptable? #onlab
(No answer from Minister of Labour. President of the Treasury Board stands and says something about anti-bullying then ignores question.) #onlab
