From Facebook:
I am completely shocked by this! AHS’s funding for the Wilderness Treatment Base Camp (Enviros) has been cut - effective March 31, 2020. This is a publicly funded treatment program for youth 12-17 years old who are struggling with problematic alcohol and drug use.
We are failing our youth and families by eliminating funded programs for addiction treatment. Early intervention is critical for our youth ... it is about preventing long term addiction issues.
This is another wake up call! We need to protect & fund treatment programs for youth & families such as the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre who are making a difference in the lives of our young people our future generation We must invest in their emotional health and wellness
