New ministers in #Thailand gather for traditional picture in #Bangkok as 7 new faces introduced to replace those who quit last month. The new energy minister will also be a #DPM. 2 key ministers will be closely watched - energy & finance.

The new energy minister & #Thailand #DPM is ex-president of PTT Global Chemical, Supattanapong Punmeechaow (1st pic middle) & new #Finance Minister is Predee Daochai (1st pic right), ex-Kaisikorn Bank co-president. Both experienced in their respective fields.

These new ministerial additions come just alittle over a year since the cabinet took office in #Thailand after the 2019 elections. Increasingly, this government is dealing with more criticisms, growing frustrations with political climate, poor #economy ontop of #COVID19 #pandemic

On continuing student protests #SavePanusaya #Thailand #education minister tells me "they have a right to express themselves but within limits". Says the government has "shown understanding of the protesters over a period of 2-3 months". Calls for "dialogue", "unity" as a nation

#Thailand #education minister @Boston_Nataphol says "government is listening to" protesters. Says "some are reasonable, many are unreasonable". But willing to engage in dialogue in order to work together to help the poor economy. Hopes all will realise the need to be united
