On 09 Apr 2021, Hav Mohammed Saleem Akhoon of 162 TA Bn, who was off duty at around 1645 hrs was shot dead by terrorists at his residence in Bijbehara, #Anantnag….
The martyred Hav Mohd Saleem Akhoon is survived by his wife, 9 yr old daughter & 6 yr old son. Unfortunately, Saleem is not the first soldier who has been attacked like this by terrorists in #Kashmir
02 Aug 2022, Rifleman Shakir Manzoor of 162 Battalion (TA), was abducted by militants while he was returning to celebrate #Eid with his family in #Kashmir’s Shopian. His burnt car was later found in the nearby #Kulgam district.
On 06 Apr, last year, militants fired at Mohammad Rafeeq Yatoo, a soldier with the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI), at his home at Warpora, near #Sopore area of north Kashmir’s #Baramulla district.
In another incident, #IndianArmy rifleman #Aurangzeb of 4 Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry, was similarly abducted and killed in 2018 while he was on leave and going home for #Eid. Martyr Aurangzeb's bullet-riddled body was found later.
In May 2017, 22-year-old #IndianArmy Lieutenant #Ummer Fayaz was abducted by militants on his first leave from his residence at south #Kashmir's Shopian. His body was found the next day around three km from his house.
August 2017, a 23-year-old #IndianArmy soldier, Irfan Ahmad Dar, had gone missing and his bullet-ridden body was found in the #Shopian district.
In another inhumane attack, 19 Feb 2021, terrorists Open Fire at 2 police men in #Srinagar’s Barzulla, in a sweet shop who were off duty.
Terrorists, who call themselves #Jihadis, soldiers of God, protecting #Islam and people of #Kashmir are actually murdering innocent Kashmiri soldiers at their residence. Such inhumane and unethical killings by terror outfits can’t be #Jihad.
