B cells get involved and antibodies are produced against the spike protein.. which also attacks the spike proteins on actual #SARSCoV2 , the pathogen for #COVID19 ..
Another interesting mechanism of action is via APC, Antigen Presenting Cells which activate Killer T Cells to attack directly the spike protein on infected cells..
