1/. As millions around the world gather today to demand #ClimateAction a QUESTION...

Would you buy grapes that were individually wrapped in plastic?
#COP26Glasgow #COP26  #ClimateEmergency #plasticpollution #ClimateJustice #ClimateMarch #ClimateActionNow

2/. “Every single grape wrapped in plastic! What the actual f***!”

You would probably be outraged like my friend Diane was! #COP26Glasgow #COP26  #FridaysForFuture #ClimateAction #ClimateEmergency #plasticfree
#ClimateMarch #ClimateJustice

3/. CONFESSION

The individually wrapped grapes in the video aren’t real

But the plastic wrapped passion fruit were

& so is this footage

& so was Diane’s reaction

& so too was the outrage you perhaps felt

It’s time to channel the outrage into action

4/. Are individually plastic-wrapped grapes so much worse than all the other fruit & veg we see in wrapped in pointless plastic every day?

There’s a trash vortex/plastic soup the size of Texas in the Pacific

We cannot plead ignorance

We can no longer afford apathy
#COP26

5/. Plastics swallowed by marine mammals, seabirds & fish clog their digestive system causing starvation

The problem doesn’t just come from plastic we can see

Micro-plastics can be found at the bottom of our deepest oceans, in plankton, & even in humans!

6/. It is fitting that #COP26 is in the UK as Britain is the world’s 2nd biggest producer of plastic per person

This @GreenpeaceUK video shows how much plastic we dump in other countries

Plastic waste kills millions of birds, sea mammals & fish each year

7/. It’s time for action

🍇Cut your food waste & plastics
♻Recycle
✈️Cut your carbon footprint
🍏Buy local
🏝Clean a beach
🌳 Plant a tree
🌎 Join an org e.g: @Fridays4future
@Earthjustice @Greenpeace @NRDC @friends_earth @RnfrstAlliance @ExtinctionR

8/. In 1944, Churchill described Nazi atrocities as "a crime without a name"

Soon after, the term 'genocide' was coined

Is it time to recognise ‘ecocide’ as an intl crime?

Is it time for all of us to start getting actIve to protect our fragile planet? #COP26  #GlasgowCop26
