A brief thread for those of you curious on how to build a collection of multiple generative NFT collection. Please retweet so it reaches to the people who actually need it!
1/
Create artwork – Tools: SketchAR, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Character Animator, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Affinity Photo Canva and there are multiple others.
2/
To many this seems to be the easy part but to me this is the most time intensive task, as art is subjective and the scope of improvising is endless (being a music producer I understand how it is to wake up to a song you were satisfied with but now it sounds all noise to you).
3/ Art Engine – A tool used to create multiple instances of artworks based on provided layers. Remember, the art you created in the previous step must be in form of several layers. These layers will be used by the art engine to create randomized artwork based on the program code.
4/
This is where you can decide the rarities of your collection. The art engine will not just create image files it will also build the respective metadata of the artwork, which will be used in the next steps.
5/
There are several art engines available on the Internet which enable you to generate multiple permutation of your artwork (layers). I am personally using one by HashLips.
6/
IPFS – Now that we have the artwork and the metadata ready, its time to upload it on one of the decentralized storage and file referencing system called IPFS. IPFS is a P2P network for storing & sharing data in a distributed file system (nft.storage, pinata .cloud)
7/
NFT Smart Contract – Once the above steps are done, the next thing to do is to deploy the contract to the Blockchain of your choice (Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, etc). This can again be achieved by a pre-build program available on the internet.
8/
Always remember to deploy on the Testnet before actually deploying on the Mainnet. Congrats, your collection will now officially be visible on the market place! But we are not done yet.
9/
Once deployed, the contract source code needs to be verified on Etherscan (if you are building on Ethereum) or Polygonscan (if building on Polygon) so it can interact with these platform in future (when the actual transactions take place).
10/
NFT Minting Dapp – The final step is to create a platform to connect it to the Smart Contract which we deployed on the Blockchain.
11/
This, in simpler words, is a landing place which is customizable and this is where people can actually mint your collection. Again, we have pre-builds for this as well which can help you create a Dapp for your project in minutes.
12/
The above process can be easily be carried out on the HashLips ecosystem which is literally the most straightforward repository you can find on the Internet enabling you to create your own collection of NFT artwork.
Hope you find this useful! Anway, my DMs are open to all in case you need any support or just want to chat!
