/10 Happy Red Day! 🔴 Hygiene during menstruation
/10 Not all mothers can explain to their daughters the rules to follow and how to take care of themselves during menstruation, but it's very important! There are several essential principles to observe during menstruation:
/10 Be prepared for the start of your period. Always carry spare pads and tampons with you. Many women always have everything they need with them - they may need it themselves, or for a friend, colleague, or even a stranger who wore white pants on the wrong day.
/10 Regular washing. One of the main components of hygiene during menstruation is regular washing.
/10 Wash/clean at least once a day, preferably in the morning/evening. Even if blood leaving the body is sterile, bacteria actively multiply on hair, skin, and sanitary pads or tampons in a dark, warm, and humid environment, which can negatively affect the vagina's microflora.
/10 - After washing, be sure to use a fresh pad or tampon
- Wash with warm water in the direction from the clitoris to the anus, and clean the buttocks last
- Specialized intimate hygiene products are for external use only! Do not rinse inside the vagina!
/10 The vagina is a mucosal organ with its own microflora, and such invasive procedures can disrupt the natural acid-base balance, potentially leading to thrush or vaginosis. If you notice an unusual odor, irritation, or any other unusual signs, consult your doctor!
/10 Clean underwear and loose clothing It's important to wear clean underwear and change it regularly. During menstruation, opt for cotton underwear, as it allows air circulation and prevents bacterial growth. Avoid wearing tight underwear and clothing during menstruation.
/10 Regular change of hygiene products Additionally, change your sanitary pad or tampon regularly (pad every 4 hours, tampon every 2 hours). Avoid using tampons at night, as they are not designed for long-term use.
/10 If you experience heavy bleeding, use special night pads with increased absorbency during the night.
