I’m really troubled by Perry’s interview in this File on 4.
A) FITs never came out of “taxpayers money”, though they arguably should have done. They’re paid out of levies on bills. I feel like the energy and climate change Minister should really know this 1/3

B) even the very best domestic rooftop solar arrays haven’t yielded a 12% return since probably 2011, when the FITs were first realised to be overcompensating generators, and subsequently slashed so that they undercompensated instead 
C) the Export Tariff is not a subsidy. It’s separate and distinct from the FIT for generation, & is simply a guarantee of payment for clean power exported to the grid. BEIS proposals see households donating this for free so suppliers can sell it on to others without paying for it
