I’ve had a change in behaviour. Usually, when I come across an ad, I skip over it.

These last few times though, I’ve gone digging
I got this ad for an 80$ customizable necklace and did one lightning fast search and came across...
This.
After some more exploring, I followed the sales funnel and made notes on the copy, plugins and tactics employed throughout the store
So much to learn, so much to replicate

1. Hey y'all. So, I was gonna nuke my Twitter archive, to get a fresh start for the new year. But when I sat down to do it I just ... couldn't. If you, sensibly, don't care about my Twitter decisions, mute this thread. Forthwith, an explanation & a few reflections on Twitter.
2. Why was I going to nuke the archive? Because Twitter is dangerous. What it *feels* like, and how people *want* to use it, is basically as real-time conversation -- jokes, riffs, odd thoughts, & other ephemera. It feels like we're all just hangin' out, BSing.
3. That informality causes people to let their guard down & say things they might not want to stand behind forever. There's *tons* of stuff that I might say when BSing with friends that I would not want inscribed forever under my byline. It's part of what BSing is for!

So as Hollywood shuts down for 2018 I thought I would leave you guys with some advice for younger writers in the New Year.
The advice is a twist on the classic "always be writing" (which of course never changes). But in the past that always meant "write a feature spec". The last few years though there has been a sea change to writing TV pilots to try and break in to the business...
And obviously rules are never steadfast but from experience and the glut of Peak TV I'm more sure than ever when I say:

DO NOT WRITE A TV PILOT TO BREAK INTO THE BUSINESS IN 2019.

plenty of weird things have happened in the 6 years my family has lived in this house. things like doors slamming, keyboards typing, chairs sliding, even multiple times of seeing figures. but for some reason, we never were bothered by the “friendly ghosts” until recently

A bit of background on me, I was born in Dublin, raised in Carrick on Suir, moved to Cork for College, met Wayne, had Carla, moved to Waterford, got degree, got married, had Nathan. I work full-time for a not-for-profit, and my hobbies include food & jigsaw puzzles.
In 2015 I found out I was pregnant with our 3rd baby. Nathan was only 1, Carla was 7. I was working a job with a 100km commute & long hours & pregnancy was not in the plan. But as my dad says, "we plan, God laughs". It didn't take long to get excited about another baba.
