New LANCET editorial: "what is a healthy amount of red or processed meat? It's looking increasingly like the answer, for both the planet & the individual, is very little [...] *The conversation has to start soon*"
EAT has partnered with "Lancet" and includes Willett (the nemesis of low-carb eating) in its core team, as well as Springmann, the vegan author of the recent "meat tax" paper.
That's all for now folks. But better prepare yourselves for some very aggressive communication (both in scientific journals & mass media) and, likely, attempts to intervene in governmental policies... (in the next months)
This sums it up: a preliminary diagram identifying ties between some of the players (industry, academics, ideologists, NGOs) behind the anti-meat campaign by EAT-Lancet coming our way in January 2019. So you know what to expect. @BelindaFettke, does this connect to your research?
Which may help to understand the recent editorial in The Lancet. A meat tax is on the agenda - so, who's going to stop this massive machine? At the Nexus Global Summit (July 2018) the strategy was clear, namely to "expedite this transition and ensure it becomes permanent" 🙄
Now also heading for primary schools...?!?
So, basically, the founders of EAT are telling the planet to stop eating meat and to drive bio-fueled Ferrari's instead...? 🤔
Decadents are paying for most of the anti-livestock network today. With Harvard, Oxford, & The Lancet on board. Surreal. Sad.
"his 2010 wedding to the now 33-year-old model-turned-physician, [with] famous guests who flew to Marrakech for the event [and a] $5 million price tag. Bob Geldof officiated."
How sustainable.
And these people are now hanging out with Willett? 🕺👯♀️👠🧨?
"ONS 2014 conference program to feature oil industry heavy hitters"
Wondering what Stordalen (EAT) was doing at this conference? 🤔
I suppose she was talking about bio-fueled Ferrari's... tu.no/artikler/ons-2…
Update.
Much more to elaborate on, but this may serve as a starting point for further exploration. It outlines the various ideological, academic, and industrial branches of the EAT-Lancet network. The agenda is clear. Expect more. A lot more.

Overview of US food availability data over past 2 centuries: dramatic increase in (ultra)processed foods, while animal fat declined. In parallel: a rising incidence of non-communicable diseases.

Dystopian idea, & it will not happen. If he thinks that the entire world will happily substitute the foods they have always cherished & thrived on since the beginning of humanity for his company's drab assortment of protein-isolate imitations, his hubris is in for a big surprise.
