Beliefs & Experiences of Individuals Following a #ZeroCarb Diet:

"driven by health concerns & benefits. Participants expressed a strong social identity"
@MDPIOpenAccess #carnivorediet #ketodiet
"All participants reported improved wellbeing & quality of life since taking up the diet. These improvements are related to health; interpersonal relationships; learning & growth; simplicity & independence".
"Physical health benefits related to the digestive system (e.g., reduction or elimination of irritable bowel syndrome symptoms); integumentary system (e.g., smoother skin, stronger hair, and nails); and musculoskeletal system (e.g., reduced joint and back pain)"
"Participants experienced an improvement in metabolic health (e.g., blood pressure, glucose, insulin, and thyroid function, as evidenced by biomarkers) and sex drive"
"Psychological health benefits included improvements in mood and cognition, including a reduction in anxiety, depression, and tiredness; increased happiness and joy, confidence, self-esteem, mental clarity, memory function, sleep quality, and productivity at work."
"Participants also reported the experience of the pleasure arising from eating the foods [&] that the diet facilitated participation in health-promoting behaviors, specifically exercise and fasting. During exercise, participants felt stronger and more energized"
"A dimension of the diet contributing to participants’ quality of life was the simplicity of the diet. Participants explained that the diet saved them time in shopping and cooking the foods, but also money [..] The diet seemed to attract independent people"
"Participants understood that their chosen eating style was somewhat socially unacceptable & isolating & tended to elicit stigmatizing responses from others [..] These “others” also included healthcare professionals"
"Finally, participants experienced internal challenges relating to the diet [..] often described as “the adaptation phase” or “keto flu”. Similar symptoms were also experienced when deviating from the diet once past the adaptation phase. This discomfort was typically transient"

Dystopian idea, & it will not happen. If he thinks that the entire world will happily substitute the foods they have always cherished & thrived on since the beginning of humanity for his company's drab assortment of protein-isolate imitations, his hubris is in for a big surprise.

#PlanetaryHealth & #GreatTransition are as much of a warning sign as #BuildBackBetter or #GreatReset. If someone uses these words, be *very* suspicious. It's not just empty rhetoric, it's much worse.

The 'São Paulo Declaration on Planetary Health', referred to in the article above was published in the #Lancet & supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). thelancet.com/journals/lance…
*Sounds* legit, but: the entire thing is organized by the Planetary Health Alliance (PHA), co-housed by Harvard’s TH Chan School of Public Health, the academic home of Walter Willett (the main designer of the Planetary Health Diet, a quasi-vegetarian diet) planetaryhealthalliance.org/mission-vision

Leading Dutch agri-food university @WUR instrumentalized by Davos, in an effort supported by @wef-revering Prime Minister @markrutte? This spells trouble for the future of food and farming.

1/ It hasn't been clear where the UN #FoodSystems Summit is getting its budget from. Using official docs, @larsms has shown that Norway is helping them out:

Question is: Why #Norway & does all this have to do with the #Davos crowd again? Thread 👇🧵
2/ Let's start with a reminder of this infamous deal between the @WEF and the @UN, dating from 2019, before the Summit. weforum.org/press/2019/06/…
3/ The person standing on the left in the previous picture, next to Schwab, is Børge Brende, President of the WEF. A #Norwegian ex-minister.

#India isn't the #vegetarian model some claim it to be. Watch this excellent summary by @sakie339 to understand why:

Staggering statistics of malnourishment in children & women, reinforced by an aggressive criminalization of valuable foods by ideologists.
"Nutritional indicators/social security schemes were a cause for concern even before the pandemic, which the pandemic has aggravated. With the large number of Covid cases in India, we need to ask if a better nourished population would have handled the pandemic better"
