@OnlyNakedTruth Singapore. Somone i know has libed there since the 70s. He spoke of the completely negative narrative of those not in the government and how they were vitiating the atmosphere there. Rioting was commonplace. Needed someone like LKY to rule with an iron fist and crush dissent.
@OnlyNakedTruth I think the government there sued every international newspaper ornmagazine that ever wrote a poorly researched article (A la bbc). They circukated photocopies of newspapers/magazines and distributed it for free to ensure loss of revenue for the organization.
@OnlyNakedTruth Economically made the magazines and media subservient to Not personal but NATIONAL interests. Even today the press critique of govt policies is measured and fact based. No hyperbole of any kind. Sensationalism invites punitive action. There's a reason they are a great country.

@OnlyNakedTruth If the 5 largest states in India have a leader of similar make, every single economic and social problem would be resolved in less than 10 years. There is ABSOLUTE fear of law in Singapore. Trials get conducted in less than 2 months in most cases.justice is speedy.
