The attacks and smears against Noah Rothman over the last few days are revealing. The left is willing to portray even the most thoughtful and mild-mannered people on the right as evil, which is why their criticism of people who actually are bad doesn’t resonate with most people.
They just can’t engage in substantive discussions and are unwilling to even consider differing view points so they resort to trying to discredit and smear the people who disagree with them.

What libelous trash written by an obvious scumbag w issues. Author simply suggests Trump support = white nationalism, then smears Covington HS kids (who aren’t even from Boston?) as such.

Hope they sue the crap out of @NoahShachtman and the publication for running this garbage.
Half the article is literally the author smearing a bunch of HS kids that have nothing to do with the Patriots team or fan base.

The other half is smearing the coach, owner, QB, and fans.

You can’t print stuff like that and then not expect people to view you as the enemy.
I mean look at this trash. He randomly goes off on a libelous rant about Covington, which has literally 0 to do with the Patriots.

And only other evidence he cites is @stoolpresidente being a Boston fan.

NYT’s Michelle Goldberg wrote a ridiculous column insisting that we shouldn’t ban late-term abortions for frivolous reasons bc no one would seek one for those reasons and it’s offensive to suggest otherwise. 1) Then why would a ban matter? 2) She’s wrong. nationalreview.com/corner/truth-a…
As @DavidAFrench points out, even studies by pro-choice groups have found most late-term abortions, while rare, are often done for reasons other than non-viability or to protect the life of the mother.
This intentionally dishonest spin that requires someone to ignore all logic and evidence can’t hide the fact that they want to eliminate all legal protections for viable fetuses up until birth (& sometimes beyond).

Putting aside the fact that the starvation has little to do with the sanctions:

Worth repeating that Omar is an advocate of sanctions/full boycott against Jews in Israel allegedly for the actions of the gov’t, but views such tactics as wrong when aimed at Maduro regime.
P.s “sanctions are causing starvation” is pure propaganda from the pro-Maduro crowd.

Socialism (as it tends to do) led to the starvation, which is why so many advocates of similar policies are quick to repeat nonsense blaming targeted sanctions for collapse of entire economy.
Anyways, so weird that Rep Omar (D) keeps creating different standards for and spreading falsehoods about one particular small country (Israel).

Can’t imagine why that is....

Over the last few days, I've seen a lot of people attacking @Hafsa_Khawaja for her tweets about white people in Pakistan. I am in total agreement and am writing this thread to explain 1. Why she's right and 2. How foreigners should behave in Pakistan.
I'll raise my hands up and say that I experienced some of the best hospitality in the world during my time as a foreigner in Pakistan, and I am indebted to everyone who has shown that to me. I do know that Pakistanis can be incredibly kind and hospitable beyond belief.
However, why was this kind of hospitality extended to me and not to others? I met many foreigners when I was in Pakistan. It seems that some are worthy of the friendliness (Arabs, Chinese, and most of all, goras) and some are not (Afghans, Somalis, etc.).

1. Like many other subjects the Burka debate is distorted by different regional experiences. There is the London view and then there's the Dewsbury view. The London view gets priority...
2. Over the last few days we have seen veiled women on TV news asserting their views - but these will be people already on the rolodex of some junior TV researcher and used because they are available at no cost. Much like the pundits they interview.
3. Usually they will be associated with a mainstream Muslim advocacy group and essentially part of civil society. They will make all the boilerplate points about their right to choose. But what of those who do not have a voice?

Over the last few days, have noticed a lot of twitter people discussing why Indian engineers/MBA types tend to mostly swing rightwards. Also, does the inclusion of a few humanities courses make a difference? Read on.
1) People have already covered the usual explanations - male, upper caste, the god complex that accompanies securing an admission. All solid points, but that doesn't account for the fact that the phenomenon often goes beyond savarna males
2) I think the question is one of basic worldview, and the assumption that the social world mirrors the 'natural world' (which in turn is also erroneously presumed to be newtonian and deterministic, with 'iron clad' laws)
